I picked this hotel because it has a pool which made it worth the 15/20 minute walk into town (which we did twice a day for 4 days). The walk is flat and you get views of the river and cathedral on the way so its not that bad plus you arrive at the right end of town for all of the attractions. It was however a problem when it rained!
The rooms are clean and tidy with tea and coffee making facilities (strange plastic espresso cups make it awkward though), the windows block out the noise of the road and the air con is really good.
Make sure you get breakfast included in the price as it is ok but not worth paying extra for as the cooked food was not kept on warming plates so was always stone cold.
To be honest I wouldn't pay for the food at all, we were stuck in 1 night because of heavy rain and the menu was very limited and expensive, luckily the girl who works on the front desk is extremely friendly and repeatedly went out of her way to be helpful - on the evening in question she arranged for a pizza to be delivered to our room.
With the exception of the front desk I found the service quite poor, if you want a drink by the pool you have to walk to reception which isn't great when you have just got out of the pool and need to keep an eye on your child.
If like me you want a pool when visiting this amazing city then this is the hotel for you, otherwise I would stay in town.
“ Top Tip: There is a bar at the bottom of the cathedral steps, get there around 10 in the morning and you will have nearly all of the square to yourself.

Hotel is situated just a 15 minute walk from the centre of Girona but is close to 2 supermarkets and local amenities.
Comfortable well run hotel.

This was a last minute booking and we were surprised to find such a nice hotel and excellent price. The hotel and staff were very nice and helpful. Free Tea and Coffee making facility was a added bonus. Hotel is about 10 minutes walk from town center and about 30 minutes from bus/train station so not too bad.
Booking via TravelRepublic was great and instant emails confirmed our booking just a day before depature from UK.

“ Friendly staff, excellent rooms, superb breakfast buffet, within easy walk of the old city so that we could leave our car at the hotel rather than searching for car parking.
“ Top Tip: Easter processions at night are spectacular in the narrow street. Highly recommended.

“ The hotel was low cost and in general represented good value for money for the price paid. The good things about the hotel were friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere and the decor although old and suffering from wear and tear summoned up a sense of post-war spacious elegance, particularly the staircase.

“ Nice hotel - would not consider it 5 star but nice nevertheless. Great views from the terrace, but drinks are very expensive. Quite a hike from the city centre up a fairly steep hill, not very suitable for the unfit - good way to burn off those calories after a night on the town. All in all a very pleasant stay.
