“ Top Tip: Try to go to Maspalomas beach for a lovely walk along the beach (bus No.25- Euro 1.40; or taxi – Euro 4, 00; or just walk along the empty canal till you see the lighthouse).
A most generous, welcoming (and very reasonably priced) restaurant at the far end of Faro Promenade awaits you: ‘La Proa’. It offers delicious food and versatility of service, as well as a complimentary shot of brandy with your bill. Simply, the best restaurant in town!
Avoid the snobbish Le Senador at the sea front, with arrogant waiters and overreaching prices.

“ We have stayed at Suns Gardens at least twice a year for the last 7 years as it is a nice small complex with a decent pool, bar food and good staff. The apartments are basic and could do with an update and lick of paint, but they are always clean and tidy with regular change of towels etc by the cleaning ladies. Bego and Patricia run the place between them and are always polite and helpfull. The bar also serves a selection of well cooked food at reasonable cost. The gardens and pool areas are well cared for by the handyman, who also sorts out any problems such as light bulbs etc in the apartments. I say apartments but there are actually forty two two up two down small terraced houses with a Lounge and Kitchenette downstairs and a Bathroom and Large Double Bedroom upstairs.

“ Top Tip: Go to the Yumbo Centre in Playa Del Ingles for Shopping in the day, and the evening for the Night Life. But be aware it does have a lot of Gay Bars and Gay Clientel at night, but we as a straight couple always enjoy the peaceful atmosphere there. Diamonds Bar is especially welcoming.
The Kasbah Centre not far from the Yumbo is also good with plenty of Bars and Restaurants for all ages, we like Rogers Bar and the live entertainment in Murphys Bar and Restaurant.

Holiday World and Faro 2 Shopping Centre are only 10 mins walk away. Try the Steaks in Broncemar 2 in Faro 2 or the Garlic Chicken in Royal Taiwan in Holiday World-lovely food, or have a drink in the Moonlight Bar in Holiday World or use the ten pin bowling alley. With the down turn in the World economy it is quiet in both of these Centres, but for 3 Euros Taxi fare you can go to Maspalomas Beach or to Playa Del Ingles for the night life. We especially like Diamonds Bar in the Yumbo Centre and Rogers Bar and Murphys Bar in the Kasbah.
