The apartments offer a modern ambience and have been built into the volcanic rock face in a style typical of the islands. Inside guests will feel submerged in a tropical atmosphere thanks to the palm trees and cactus gardens. The following facilities and services feature: telephone/fax facilities, a currency exchange facility, car rental, cycle hire, safety deposit boxes, luggage storage/cloakroom and a mini-market. It has a lobby with 24-hour reception and lift access. A bar and cafe also feature. Internet access is available, as is a laundry service. Parking facilities are available for guests arriving by car. The kids' club is sure to be a hit with younger guests.The complex is located in Puerto Rico, a tropical paradise offering some of the finest weather to be had on the whole of Gran Canaria. It is within easy walking distance of Puerto Rico's commercial centre, home to a variety of shops and restaurants. Also in the vicinity are a number of fine white sandy beaches including Playa de Amadores.The apartments are distributed into blocks with 3 floors. The modern decoration in tropical colours transmits a great warmth, making the apartments a home from home. Each apartment is composed of 1 or 2 double rooms and also offers the possibility of converting the sofa in the living room into a bed ideal for children. Each apartment has capacity for 4-6 guests. Alongside the bedrooms guests will find a spacious bathroom. The kitchen is open-plan with the lounge/dining room and is fully fitted with appliances such as a toaster, a kettle, a fridge and an oven. An ironing set is also provided, as is a safe deposit box and a direct dial telephone. From the living room guests have access to the balcony from which they can enjoy spectacular views over the valley of Puerto Rico and out onto the Atlantic Ocean.Every night on the bar terrace guests can enjoy one of the live shows offered by the entertainment team. The bar also has a large, flat screen television showing all the major sports events, along with movies for those who wish to relax watching a film. The heated pool in winter (with children's pool) surrounded by the terrace (with sun loungers and parasols) and palm trees offers an ideal temperature to bathe all year round. Next to the pool is the snack bar. Visitors are able to enjoy a wide selection of water sports on the beach. The beach comes with sun loungers and parasols (both subject to fees).

Good hotel except for a 10 am check out, they want 25 euros for keeping room on were as the spanish pay 20 euros. Stepsdown to resort are ok going down but not for the unable coming back, 200 steps in 37 deg was not good.
The security gaurd is all for to see at night, fast asleep on the sunbeds.
Apart from that, clean hotel.

“ appartments were clean and well equiped for all needs. beds not changed during the week i was there but towels changed 3 times. because of location you need to be relativly fit. 118 steps down to main town area but this only takes 10 minutes to walk and it was under 3 euro's to get taxi back up to appartments. this is my second week in the last 3 months and i hope to return for 14 nights at the end of August.

“ This was my 3rd time staying at the cala d'or so already knew what to expect. It wasn't as busy as it usually is which i thought was good as we didn't have to fight for a lounger. Pool area is great with music and entertainment throughout the day and has a relaxed, yet fun atmosphere. The rooms themselves are clean and spacious with everything you need (apart from air con). Towels could have been changed more regularly but other than that, the hotel is spot on. Lovely staff apart from one who is supposed to be on 24 hour reception but spends all his time sleeping and moaning, avoid him!
“ Top Tip: Amadores beach is a short taxi ride away but is so much better than puerto rico beach and is only 4 euros or so in a taxi. Bubbles restaurant does lovely food and Piccaddilly's is by far the best bar in Puerto Rico.

“ Although I had read some negative reviews on the hotel, it suited us very well. The room was exactly as I had seen in the pictures and was clean and in good repair. The swimming pool and surrounding area was well looked after and there seemed to be a good number or sunbeds available, although the parasols had seen better days. There were computers available for internet access, and a bar serving snacks and drinks. There was entertainment also provided which was of a good standard. The only downside really was the steps - you had to climb down the steps to get to the shopping / entertainment centre, so had to climb back up the steps on you return to the appartments - about 200 of them, which could be quite hard going!
“ Top Tip: Amadores beach was a real highlight - really beautiful. There is a nice walk from Puerto Rico to Amadores along the front.
