Excellent

“ The only disappointment in the whole (7 day) holiday was that there were no available seats shortly after the restaurant opened at 1800 hrs on several evenings, the advertised start of evening meal time. We and a dozen or more other guests had to wait at least 50-55 minutes, possibly more, for seating to become vacant.
“ Top Tip: A novel feature of St Augustin was the resident population of Scandinavians, with Swedish and Norwegian cafe's which were interesting and gave good value, the Swedish coffee being exceptionally good, for example.

“ This was my second stay at this hotel - but this time 'all inclusive'. The standard of cleanliness and service was excellent - as before. I thought the food was even better than last time and the Gala Dinners at Christmas and New Year were excellent. The rooms/service are excellent but the beds are hard!! My only criticism would be that most nights the entertainment was held at the Pool Bar and they even closed the Restaurant Bar on these nights as well so you could not get a drink in the hotel at all. Some evenings it was quite chilly and windy and the Pool Bar was not suitable at all.
“ Top Tip: Go up the steps to the headland on New Year's Eve for a spectacular view of the Fireworks over San Agustin, Playa del Ingles, and Maspalomas!

“ Good Beach and coastal walkway into Playa del Inglais. Not a lot of evening entertainment in hotel or near by. Hotel very clean, a fair choice and selection of foods, although some very good but some not so! We will return.

“ A clean, attractive hotel with pleasant pool area and with trips and entertainment on offer. The buffet restaurant was uninspiring but in keeping with 3* rating. The service was generally good.
“ Top Tip: The hotel was ideally situated for good beaches, promenade walks and public transport.

The public areas of the hotel are modern and attractive, with nice pools, well maintained gardens and open, airy reception and restaurant areas. The staff were friendly and helpful, and multilingual. The hotel was very clean and well maintained. However, the rooms were a little dated decoratively and would benefit greatly from refurbishment, as otherwise they are a reasonable size and have good views.
We stayed on a half-board basis and the food (which was buffet-style) was reasonable, although a bit samey, plentiful and well presented. However, if you are a vegetarian you were limited to pasta or pizza for main meals.
The hotel is well situated close to the motorway and dual carriageways connecting the resorts and you can step out of the grounds straight onto the beach. It is quiet at night and a half-hour walk along the coast path (or a short drive or taxi ride) takes you into the bigger resorts of Playa del Ingles and Maspalomas.
A decent three star that could be better with a little investment.

Top Tip:
If you drive, park in the public car park opposite the hotel next door, it is free.
If you want to go to Puerto Mogan (the prettiest resort on the island), drive to Puerto Rico and park in the harbour car park, catch the ferry to Mogan for €10 return (it runs all day), and you get a boat ride passing all the resorts at that end of the island. It's also easier and more relaxing than driving to Mogan and struggling to get a parking space there.
