“ hotel was OK. Staff were despondent and sometimes just rude. The hotel is in a pleasant quiet location with a small selection of restaurants nearby. Most of the staff spoke very little English which was surprising and the hotel would definitely fit into a 3 star bracket not 5 as advertised.
“ Top Tip: the hotel does however boast an observatory which if you are interested was a nice freebie.

I can not praise this hotel enough, it is, spectacular.
I'll keep this brief:
Setting: Lovely and grand interior, easy layout. Right near the beach, it has its own private beach area, accessed by your room key-card.
Staff: Friendly and outgoing, rooms made everyday, anything you need, just ask.
Rooms: Spacious, balcony, minibar topped up daily.
Food: If you like food, you will love hear. One of the most impressive buffets you will ever see. Some are put off by buffets, when it's done to this standard you can not fault it. Anyting you want, the food is delicious.
Pools - Lovely pool area with bar and restaurant.
A true five star experience.
Will definitely be going back.
“
Top Tip:
Visit Play Del Ingles, go to 'Aqua', it's near another five star hotel 'H10', lots of excellent and cheap restaurtants, right next to the beach.
Also near by, in one of the massive shopping centres is
Club Pacha - great chilled lounge bar
Inside the shopping centre are many small bars, cheap and excellent, such as;
Lineker' s - They do a deal, 10 euros, drink what you like for two hours. Also, they organise 'Airsoft' shooting days, like paintball, but more intense.
MTV Bar - Very nice interior
ZigZags - Opposite MTV bar, (argentian dancer) :)
Also beer, food and cigarettes are very cheap in Gran Canaria when you shop in town, even in the hotel a 20 pack of Marlboro was 3 euro.
Taxi drivers are very helpful, also six euros will get you to the best places.
Lot of things happen around the shopping centres, the bars and clubs are usually near or actually in them. Also it's a very family-friendly place.

HMMMM where do I start? I had always took previous reviews with a pinch of salt, took on board advice and thought I would be prepared, but if you have a choice about staying here - stay here with caution.
Be prepared to sleep on a solid spring hard bed. I needed 4 blankets put underneath me to actually get any sleep. I thought I would be able to cope as I had read previous reviews that had talked about the beds, I thought I would sleep on the loungers in the day, although they were more comfortable but too noisy with kids. Considering I went on a summer holiday-I had the worst room ever. Decor pre-1970 and no balcony and the worst view of roadworks.
Food was ample and tasty altho as a vegetarian - not a clue what some of it was so abstained.
All services had to be paid for seperately i.e. Spa facilities and jacuzzi.
Alcohol was good, it was the real mccoy and most all inclusive is watered down.
Most staff grumpy and even were due to strike whilst we were there as we were notified upon check in.
We were only English in hotel, thought it might be quaint but dont think the English welcomed really.
Not a 5 * more a 3 * on a good day.
Pools were nice and sun loungers ample. Beach was accessible.
Unless they invest in new mattresses I suggest you go somewhere else.
“ Top Tip: We loved Ricky's Caberet at the Yumbo Centre!! So much fun with Gina-G, Pixie Primark, Vanity Case, Hellon Earth and Tanya Hyde!!!!!! We went almost every nite and the taxi was only 5 Euros. (Much better value than the ridiculous casino in the hotel.

Was once a 5star . sadly those days have passed. Very limited facilities, Rooms in need of decoration. Only one bar open in the evening. - therefore pre dinner drinks you have to contend with kids club in the bar or the smoking terrace with no proper service
Excellant fresh orange juice and paellas, but all of the other food not up to five star standard. No a la carte restuarant

Enjoyed our stay at Tamarindos, we opted for all inclusive with a sea view, which we highly recommend. Excellent selection of food at breakfast, lunch and dinner. Premium brands drinks were also included within the all inclusive drinks selection. Service can be a bit on the slow side but you are on holiday so what is the rush (the odd 5 Euro tip helps). The swimming pool is well presented with plenty of sun beds. Daily and nightly entertainment is quite good, for all ages.
