The Meliá Golf Vichy Catalán (open April 2006) is located in the heart of the PGA Golf Catalunya, alongside Caldes de Malavella, a spa resort on the Costa Brava in notheast Spain. Although modern in design, decorated in warm and welcoming colours and employing superior quality materials, the hotel is superbly integrated in its natural environment and combines perfectly with the two golf courses in the resort. The location is 15 km. from the city of Girona, a great starting point for visiting the beaches on the Costa Brava, 40 km. from France, and 85 km. from cosmopolitan Barcelona. Girona airport is only 7 km. away
“ We spent four days in the Hotel Melia Golf Vichy Catalan and we found the staff very friendly. The breakfast on the outside terrace was very nice, and has lovely views. The breakfast food is great, a fantastic buffet of cold meats,cheeses, fruits, yogourts, etc or a full english breakfast.

“ I picked this hotel because it has a pool which made it worth the 15/20 minute walk into town (which we did twice a day for 4 days). The walk is flat and you get views of the river and cathedral on the way so its not that bad plus you arrive at the right end of town for all of the attractions.

“ The hotel was low cost and in general represented good value for money for the price paid. The good things about the hotel were friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere and the decor although old and suffering from wear and tear summoned up a sense of post-war spacious elegance, particularly the staircase.
