Azuline Hotel Bergantin

“ The hotel was ok, it was very clean and reception staff were great. We went as a group of adults for a few days so found it ok but was glad it wasn't our family holiday, entertainment by day was virtually non existent and night time wasn't much better. The food quality wasn't great, very much the same food over and over which wouldn't have been so bad if it was nice! overall you get what you pay for.

“ Top Tip: Some good bars, Bucanero just to the left of the hotel was great and another bar a little bit further down. If you leave the hotel and turn right there's a lovely restaurant called Cassina the food was beautiful in there.

“ You could not fault the hotel - the staff were friendly and helpful, good food and the hotel was spotless.

Pool areas were ideal with the added bonus of the pool bar and snack bar at the largest pool, this pool could be a bit noisy but there was another pool by the lounge bar which was a quiet area.

“ Top Tip: Would recommend the land train which is a 2 hour trip and leaves just outside the bus station.

It was lovely to be able to use the water taxi to get to the centre of San Antonio or the bus both very reasonable.

“ We were a party of five 60 something ladies, and bearing in mind the Bergantin is only a three star hotel, we found the quality and variety of food to be very good indeed. The cleanliness in the hotel was very good, we had clean towels every day and the beds were changed often.

Without exception the staff were absolutely lovely and very helpful. The young people on the bar remembered us and our preferred drink, which made us feel more than welcome.

However the entertainment was a bit hit and miss.

“ Top Tip: The Bergantin is on the quiet side of San Antonio Bay, and access to other parts of the island and clubs was from the other side. So everytime we went out, we had to catch a bus into town (only EUR 1.50 each way) or the little ferry which runs every 1/2 hour (EUR 2.50 each way). Adjacent to the bus station in San Antonio we discovered the little land train which takes you up into the mountains and great scenery. Our driver 'Ignatious' was absolutely hilarious and made the 2 hour trip such fun. He had an endless supply of props including a spare steering wheel. Cost about EUR15 each and worth every cent (if you have a sense of humour of course). The Aquarium just 5 minutes out of town is a lovely spot to sit and watch the sunset over the sea on a clear evening.

“ Fantastic hotel, relaxed, informal. Good food. Friendly staff. Highly recommended for groups and families alike.

“ Top Tip: Jesters Bar out of the hotel and turn left, friendly fun place with singer.
