Cavanna Hotel

“ The Cavanna is a perfectly acceptable hotel with a few major faults. As documented in other reviews,it has a mainly Spanish clientele and that is reflected in things like the food served, entertainment and TV channels (mostly Spanish or German). However the receptionists speak perfectly passable English and we had no trouble making ourselves understood. More concerning was that all the rooms have balconies with wooden railings and ours were loose. At 11 floors up with a 6 year old, that was quite unnerving. I'm not saying that we were in imminent danger but it was puzzling to say the least why a hotel built of concrete should use such a flimsy construction method. Furthermore the swimming pool which was a great asset due to it's size was built with a uniform depth of 1m 60cms.
Not so great for my son, who is learning to swim so wasn't interested in the paddling pool. Difficult to understand why it was constructed this way.

“ Top Tip: The National Park of Calblanque, a 20 minute drive away, was like a breath of fresh air in contrast to the endless concrete strip of La Manga. It shows the original beauty of the area before unfettered over development and greed was allowed to despoil what must have been a beautiful spot. Swimming in the Med on deserted sandy beaches with the stunning backdrop of the mountains without a hotel,bar or road to be seen was my highlight of our trip

“ Very clean hotel 10 -10 to the cleaning staff, reception did try to help but little english was spoken, we couldn't make ourselves understood. Food could have been better but we didn't go hungry. announcements were made over a speaker system this was in spanish so we couldn't understand what was being said. We liked the area it was very quiet and relaxing. Just a few bars open near to the hotel, the rest had closed for the winter months.
