“ We were very pleased with our choice of this hotel. We had looked for good reviews, not too expensive, and available public transport. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The public areas and gardens are lovely (though from the outside the hotel is an ugly long low slab of white concrete). The food was a bit better than the average hotel buffet. The evening show was fun, if not top of the range entertainment. The daytime animacion was comprehensive and the staff lovely, though we generally went walking. The TravelRepublic bookings all worked perfectly (to our relief). We got the half board we wanted and saved a bit of money into the bargain.

“ Top Tip: We took a taxi to Femes (15 euros) and walked via a deserted valley in the mountains to the coast at Playa del Pozo, then back via Playa Quemada to the hotel (David & Ros Brawn walking guide route 17). Lovely, though you need to be sure-footed on the loose gravel.

“ For this time of year this large 4 star hotel was mainly occupied by older people and mainly British. The hotel from outside looked very bland, but, on entering the reception we were pleasantly surprised by large open space and general layout. Overall the impression was one of low occupancy, but, there was at least 200 people in buffet restaurant for evening meals. Pool area was extensive and laid out in a way that provided several nooks and crannies that made good quiet sun traps never far from one of the many swimming pools.
The room was fresh and spotlessly cleaned on a daily basis. Only critisism is no tea / coffee making in room and beds are twin with a tendency to part the red sea when push came to shove. Staff in all areas were very friendly and efficient. The food was fresh and plentisome, but, as usual can get a bit buffet repetitive. Alcoholic beverages had good selection of local and world brand labels inclusive and some with reasonable supplement.

“ Top Tip: Outwith hotel, local marina is a 5 min walk down a steep hill, but, the selection of bars and eateries made it worthwhile.

“ The hotel was clean, well laid out and the views lovely. The staff were excellent, both friendly and effective, hard working with time for the guests. The food was very good overall for all inclusive which can be dull and boring. Excellent choice of dishes most nights with with worst evening being perfectly acceptable and the best being great!
I would go back. It is not really pitched at teenagers, families with younger children, babies and grown ups with parents will find it excellent. Good value car and bike hire on site. I will go back, for sure.

“ Top Tip: Lovely walk along the coast to Puerto de Carmen where many restaurants, bars and activities are to be found. Takes about 45 minutes easy going. Bodecas Polish Restaurant in Puerto de Carmen is well worht a visit for a good fusion on European cuisine.
