Beatriz Playa and Spa Hotel

“ we were welcomed by very helpful reception staff, the Hotel is very large and it is easy to get lost until you get used to it!, the food was very good lots of choice to suit all tastes. we were in room 3103 above the main entertainment , the first 2 nights it was very noisy after it had closed with people shouting and talking loudly until 2 in the morning, we were going to ask if we could move but the noisy people went home, the Hotel has a spa which is worth a visit, it was all very clean, rooms cleaned everyday, clean towels etc, on the downside the beds were solid when we mentioned this to reception they happily arranged some extra pillows for us.
It was my husbands birthday whilst we were there and the hotel gave us some bubbly and fruit which was much appreciated.

“ Top Tip: A short walk to the left and you are on the airport boundary if you like planes worth a look, the playa blanca market is on a wednesday, if you are thinking of going go on the arranged trip for 15 euros, we thought we would go it alone, we missed the bus ended up walking to the other end of porta carmen (2 hours walk) and then got a bus and had to walk another mile to find the market which was packing up!!

“ Friendly staff generally.I think they could have explained things a bit better when we arrived.For example the safe in the room needs to be paid for -3 Euros per day and activated by your room key-this was not explained so we had a friutless 20 minutes trying to work the safe which was de-activated.An older hotel [ maybe built in the early '70's ]but built in a contemporary way.Room fine-large with a layout that incorporated a lounge and balcony although we didn't have much of a sea view it was in a quite part of the hotel on the side.Very close to the airport which was handy and great if you're a plan spotter!The planes were no bother and it was interesting to see them landing and taking off.Pool area good.We were on a b&B basis and we found the bufet breakfast to be very good-fantastic range and good quality,except perhaps the coffee which was very bitter.It is only a close walk to some shops and bars which were not very exciting but good value.You have to go furhter afield by taxi for a really good selction of bars and restaurants.

“ Top Tip: Nothing I can think of.

“ This was our 5th holiday in the Beatriz Playa and we were deliighted when we arrived on Sun. around noon.We enjoyed the next 2 days but on Tues. night my husband got very ill with a tummy bug and he spent most of Weds. in bed but on Weds. eve. we had to get a taxi to go to Puerto Del Carmen to get medicine from the Pharmacia.On Thurs eve. I fell ill and I was so bad, my sick husband had to get up at 1.30am and get a taxi again to get medicine for me. We both spent the rest of our holiday in and out of bed and the bathroom.We ate very little on the last few days and were very glad to be able to travel home on Sun. We missed out a lot of our holiday.When we were leaving a receptionist said that there had been a virus on the island of Lanzarote a short time ago and all the hospitals were full to capacity.We were just unlucky this time and we will go back again to the Beatriz Playa.

“ Brilliant hotel, great location, food excellent lots of choice, stay away from burger bar though as food not so good in there. Staff friendly and helpful, mini club great for the kids. If I had to find one fault I would say entertainment of a night should be earlier. It does'nt start until 10.15 and the kids are shattered by then.
Great holiday..... would recommend.
