This hotel is excellently located for exploring Madrid if you require somewhere that you want to just overnight and spend most of the day sightseeing. The majority of those staying there were students of school age under supervision who seemed to do everything en masse, but were no real trouble.
The rooms are a little spartan but clean and all have a balcony give nice views on most sides.
“ Top Tip: There is a large plaza behind the hotel which has quite a few good quality pavement cafes, bars and restaurants. There is also a bus stop for the open-topped bus which does a tour of the city within a few hundred metres. The Atocha station which is opposite the hotel is worth a visit to see the tropical garden.

This is a decent place to stay if you want a reasonably priced, clean, comfortable bed in central Madrid, particularly if you're going for the art. It's next door to the Reina Sofia, the Prado is easily walkable and the Retiro and Botanical gardens are nearby. It's very handy for the metro (Atocha station) and downstairs is a bar that serves decent tapas.
It's not a luxury hotel. Rooms are smallish and simple, double glazing keeps out most of the traffic noise, breakfasts are also simple (no choice just juice, coffee/tea, a roll and a croissant) but efficient. The place is popular with tours. There's a lift. Reception staff friendly and helpful with reasonable English.
“
Top Tip:
If you decide to get the Metro from the airport you need to be fit and have light luggage, it's two changes to get to the Mediodia, there's a lot of walking between lines and some flights of stairs. Be aware of pickpockets, particularly on the escalators. It takes about an hour door to door.
Still it's excellent value.

“ Wonderful hotel with very friendly staff. Very central location so excellent base for trip to Madrid and beyond. Had great room with a small balcony opening onto square. Presume only two stars as has no restaurant and breakfast very basic. With lots of places to eat close-by was not a problem.
