The Regente Hotel is ideally located steps away from the Gran via in downtown Madrid. The Plaza Mayor, Puerta del sol and the historic area of los Austrias are all just within close walking distance. The hotel is surrounded by theatres, cinemas, restaurants and boutiques and public transport, either by metro or city bus is close and convenient. The hotel is a perfect choice in Madrid for both business trips and leisure.

Hotel location is perfect - close to metro, hop on/hop off bus stop and within easy walking of most museums and art galleries, shops and restaurants.
The Hotel itself on the surface looks OK. The room we had was in need of a little TLC though. Sliding doors on wardrobes did not slide, bracket holding the shower head fell off whilst we were there, sheets on bed albeit clean were a bit beyond their best before date as they had little tiny holes in them, no instructions about anything in the room. We tried for quite a long time to get the safe deposit box to work only to find from reception that we needed to purchase a battery to operate it!
However for a short stay it was absolutely fine with a reasonable buffet breakfast - not a vast choice but perfectly adequate. We would use the hotel again mainly for its location
“ Top Tip: Look for the Salad & Co restaurant - close to Callao Metro station. Great value at 9.95 euros, all you can eat salad plus hot dishes, plus dessert (mainly fresh fruit) and ice cream. Brilliant

“ went with my 12yr daughter.easy to get to on metro from airport.great central location by shops on gran via nd v close to old town-all in walking distance.good breakfast.room had no views but was clean and functional and hotel staff helpful. perfect for us.
“ Top Tip: restaurants and tapas bars calle tetuan near Sol much cheaper and better and frequented by Spanish than those in Plaza Mayor.
