The hotel was clean and very well situated for us. Not necessarily ideal if you have difficulty walking any distance and getting up and down inclines.
The bar however was redicuously expensive to purchase any type of spirit/cocktail on comparision to the local area i.e a Gin and Tonic would set you back 14 euros and wine was more restaurant prices i.e 22 euros for the cheapest bottle but still very expensive on comparison to buying a bottle/glass in the local area.
Breakfast had a very good variety and was plentyful - staff very helpfull.
Rooms appeared fairly recenlty refurbished and good all round storage and comfort. The TV control worked intermitently although it appeared new and it did not bother us too much as it was too expensive at 40 euros to watch anything more the world news.
All staff were very efficient and professional throughout our stay.
“
Top Tip:
The Prado museum and a couple of very good tapas bars near the hotel.
The Plaza major square for sitting an watching the world go by - it is very expensive but worth if for the local entertainment.
The tour bus route1 - we would recommend taking this one only as route2 repeats a lot.
It would be good to offer speedy boarding on your website rather than having to do this seperately (may be a good reason though)

Great Hotel. Right by the main art gallery and easy walking distance to all the main squares - Sol, Santa Ana and Mayor.
Beautifully furnished room and really big by European standards. Very comfortable bed and big bathroom. Breakfast in the Rotanda restaurant, which features a giant glass dome, was exceptional.
It was my birthday which I was staying there - the Hotel must have known this from my check in details - when we got back from dinner we found a bottle of Sparkling in an ice bucket along with a little cake and a note wishing me a happy birthday. A really nice touch!
The only reason I have given the Hotel 9 out of 10 rather than 10 is because we were disappointed by dinner in the Hotel on the Saturday night. The meal was bland and overpriced and the piano player was drowned out by a disco in one of the function rooms. We had wanted to treat ourselves to romantic dinner in an what we thought was an upmarket restaurant but it was a bit lacking! It was a shame because breakfast was so good! But that was the only negative of the stay.

We went to Madrid to celebrate my husband's 50th birthday and our stay at Westin Palace was marvellous. We were upgraded to an executive room with robes and slippers and a bottle of bubbly and chocolates were put in our room.
The ambience of the hotel was superb and the staff from check-in at reception to restaurant and room service very helpful and courteous.
The breakfast (included in our break) was delicious and a delight in such beautiful surroundings.
We had a fantastic time and would definitely return to the Westin Palace Madrid.

Top Tip:
Viniteco just off Plaza Santa Anna was an excellent choice for lunchtime/evening drinks and tapas.
The Lammuca nearby was also great for an evening out.
Los Galayos at Botoneras 5 (Plaza Mayor) served at great paella.
