Barcelo Ponent Playa Hotel

“ Fantastic scenery from hotel onto cove. Great location for getting into cala dor being an easy walk of about 10 minutes with bars,restaurants and shops on the way. Hotel itself was very clean with good size rooms and lovely views being just steps from the beach. Hotel food was good but nothing special and a little predictable. I think the all inc. option does not include lots of drinks and snacks,we were on half board basis which was fine. Lovely selection of restaurants and bars in centre of town but didn't see any night clubs or lively bars for teens so wouldn't recommend it as a 18 -30 type holiday. We asked for a high floor with sea views and that was exactly what we got. Overall had a fab time at a very good price.

“ Top Tip: Boat trips leave from outside hotel. We tried the one to Porto colom fishing village but found very little there apart from a few bars looking out over the fishing boats. We also went via taxi into the cala dor harbour area for an evening out but was a little disappointed as there were only a few expensive shops and the restaurants.

“ Fantastic stay at Barcelo, food and facilities are really good. Best sea view definitely worth the upgrade price!

“ hotel was very clean and well run, staff very helpful. rooms a little small as was the balcony and not really worth paying extra for the sea view as sun moves round to the front of hotel in the early afternoon. Vast majority of people seemed to be all inclusive and meal times resembled hundreds of ants moving across the restaurant floor, although the food was very good and plenty variety. only downside was that there are no tea/coffee facilities or fridges in room although these can be hired from reception. hotel was very busy when we were there and imagine it could get hectic in the summer as like others have commented, pool size and insufficient sun beds could cause mayhem!!!.

“ Top Tip: Snack Bar Treff just over from hotel was very friendly place with very reasonable prices for drink, and a singing canary in the corner.

“ great location,great views, lovely cove and nice beach.
hotel- clean and staff friendly and helpful. food good as you get for a 3 star hotel. only slight criticism is the night entertainment was average. the hotel entertainment staff tried hard but each night very similar. needs live music/acts at least every other night.
this is the second time at hotel and would go again in the future.

“ Top Tip: nothing really opens until 1st may, would recomend not going to early if you want it more alive. recomend the duke of devonshire near the hotel-good english food if eating out.
