I have a few complaints about the Niu Hotel which is why Myself and my partner will not stay there again.
* When booking the hotel we put in a special request if we could have a sea view, double bed and not to be on the ground floor. When we got there we were given our room key and our room was right next to reception and the hotel office was next door. We had no balcony or sea view and instead had the view of a stone wall at the back of hotel and on ground floor.
* We constantly had the horrible smell of toilets in our room whether this was coming through the air vents or air con but the rooms absolutely stank which was really off putting. We also had two single beds put together which were both not level so it didn't feel like a double bed as one bed was raised more than the other so basicly me and my partner slept in seperate beds all week which wasn't very nice.
* We also got woken up late at night by the staff talking loudly in reception and also by them knocking things around in the office next door to us which was the wall behind our heads. We also got woken up at 3 in the morning with them talking and also when they arrived for their shifts before 6am, so we never had a good night sleep. We did ask if we could change rooms but was told there were none available although we noticed a room wasn't in use at all.
* When the manager of the hotel left for her shift and went home we noticed the young lad who worked in the bar downstairs kept putting on loud hip hop music and the bar was a mess, it was like he was having a party with some girls which was extremely rude for people such as ourselves who were staying at hotel as we wanted some peace and quiet and wanted to be able to sit in the barr and lounge and have a coffee but the music was extremely loud.
Overall we will not stay at this hotel again and would not recommend it.

Top Tip:
A fantastic restaurant down by Hotel Group Molins. The restaurant was called L'Alba. The staff were very friendly and very professional. We went to this restaurant nearly every evening as the food waa fantastic and staff were lovely.
Do not go to the restaurant La Tasca as food was under cooked and discusting and also The Marina bar the waiter who served us was extremely rude. He gave such bad service.

“ The hotel is ideally situated close to a picturesque cove in the resort. The staff were friendly and attentive, rooms and public areas immaculately cleaned. As we were only there for a few days we did not eat dinner at the hotel, although the terrace restaurant always seemed busy, and the breakfasts were plentiful and varied. The only slight criticism being that the hot selection could have been hotter. It was a pleasure to return in the evening and sit on the terrace with a nightcap before retiring for the day.
“ Top Tip: We only found out on the last day that the bar over the Spar shop offers wi-fi, which would have been really handy to have known sooner. Also, every restaurant in the resort closes one evening a week, so it's good to know the rota to avoid disappointment. There is a restaurant situated a few minutes walk away that is not immediately obvious but well worth the walk called Bar Pinar (C/Temporal) where we ordered tapas. We thought we had ordered conservatively but beware - the portions are huge! Excellent value for money and we recommend the meatballs. We spoke to some other diners who ordered meals rather than tapas and they also said they were impressed with the quality and quantity of the food.

The Niu hotel was fabulous. The rooms were clean and a good size. The setting could not have been better right on the beach, breakfast was a buffet with a large selection. There were a few restaurants around the 2 bays but not much else for the evening so it was lovely and quiet. There were a few pedalos and kyacks for rent, the beach was sand but going into the water was very rocky

“ This is a tiny and intimate hotel tucked away to the side of the larger and more imposing Don Pedro Hotel yet edged in jagged and imposing mountains. Until two years ago it had been run by the same family for three generations and it still retains the air of an intimate family run affair. Service is key and the staff are the hotel's strong heartbeat. From the welcome at reception, to the warm smiles from the ladies who clean the rooms so thoroughly everyday, to the warmth of the waiters hovering to welcome you to dinner every evening, Hotel Niu sets out to please and delivers at all levels. Switch sophisticated and chic for intimate and inviting, decadent and grand for delightful and good value and Hotel Niu is the perfect get away. Just don't tell too many of your friends!
“ Top Tip: Bar Mallorca on the square at Cala Mollins. The locals eat here, its bustling from breakfast to sundown, busy and very Spanish. Sit under an umbrella, sip your sangria, a speciality of the bar and watch the world go by. Hungry cyclists, sun kissed families and eager walkers mingle with the local workmen and villa owners creating a relaxed mix of old and new, local and international, athletes and amblers. All are welcome and the food is plentiful and good value, melon and Palma ham with grilled squid and sardines for those embracing all things spanish, toasted sandwiches, plates piled high with hot, perfectly cooked chips for those that like to stick to what they know.
