Hi! Cala Vinas Apartments

“ I have been to the hotel before but never with Travel Republic. The best features are no children, all rooms overlooking the med, wonderful food and wonderful service - couldn't ask for more!

“ Top Tip: Magaluff is a short bus ride away or a 40 min walk - although you would have to be quite fit. The beach at Magaluff is fantastic and there is a lot going on so a nice change from the peacefullness of the Cala Vinas.

“ On arrival to the appartments we were given no instructions on where to check in as there is no reception there, after looking around we decided to ask in the hotel which is next door and was told we had to check in there. This information would have been helpful to have known before hand. When we got into the appartment we realised there was no double bed although this is'nt uncommon for the EU as we had booked as a couple it would have been nice if there had of been a double bed. As for the 2 single beds which where in the flat what can we say ..... they were old and were THE MOST UNCOMFORTABLE BEDS WE HAVE EVER HAD THE UNFORTUNATE UNPLEASURE OF NOT SLEEPING IN, i say not sleeping in as we found it really hard to have even 1 good nights sleep. Every morning and throughout the night we woke up to sore legs, hips and backs. Not very nice considering the price we paid. Although we knew it was a self catering appartment we were not told that we had to strip the sheets and leave them outside the door so they could be washed and remade. It did state in the bathroom that if the towels are in the bidet they would be washed and clean ones would be replaced this only happen twice in the 10 days we were there. As we spent most of the days there on the beach we needed clean towels to use after having a bath. The shower attachment was broken and my partner had to hold it for me when ever i wished to wash my hair. We also had a day where we had no toliet paper we did buy some but as it is provided that really should have been checked more often. There was also no bath mat so after having a bath we was expected to step out onto slippery floor which is a health hazard. We also found that while running the bath the tap would splash water all over the floor. The T.V didn't work and after informing the hotel no one came until the forth day, and once they did they informed us that it was the aerial fitting on the wall that didn't work. This wouldn't of been such an issue but as it was my partners first holiday he found the heat on some days too much and wanted to relax in the appartment and watch T.V but couldn't. The kitchen was very limited considering it was meant to be self catering. Overall the appartment was VERY DATED and needs to be brought upto date with the times!!!!!!!!!!!! We often found some staff at the Cala Vinas Hotel to be rude some where helpful but when you informed them that you were staying at the apparments their attitudes changed, once they realised we were not staying at the hotel they seemed to speak to us like we where not as important. It seems like alot of money has been spent on the hotel which was beautiful and nothing has been spent on the apparment block which is a shame as it could be really nice. It was very quiet and peacful but lacked the comfort that is needed on a holiday.

The beach and sea are beautiful and are kept very clean, there is a lovely bar on the beach which is really nice to sit and have a few drinks at. There are a few resturants across the road the best being the caracas where the food is amazing. There is also lots of little supermarkets around that area. The location was really good it is 10 mins drive to magaluf and 15 to plama nova and only costing between 10 - 15 euros this is not my first time to this area i stayed at magaulf when i was 18 and my has it changed if you do decide to go for a mental night out be careful. There are lots of day trips which can be found all around the island, they are worth doing as majorca is such a beautiful place. All round we have come home very brown and relaxed but very very very tired from lack of sleep.
For a bit extra i would reccomend staying at the hotel and have a good nights sleep in some comfort.

“ Top Tip: Go on the peal and cave trips so amazing worth seeing.

“ Been coming here for several years, love the location and the large balconies with the beutifull views over Palma Bay. Very quiet local area whith just a couple of bars and restaurants. Approx 25 minute walk to Magaluff if you want more noise and action. Accomodation starting to get a bit tired now in places, could do with a good lick of paint. Maid service also now down to absolute minimum. clean towells every couple of days and bins emtied if you're lucky

“ Check in at the hotel next door where you may use all the wonderful facilities.Any problems dealt with efficiently.We found all the staff polite, friendly and helpful.107 bus will take you into magaluf but a taxi from outside Shetland Bar only 4-5 euros.Only two small bars,Chinese and a couple of corner shops in the direct area but they stocked all the essentials we needed.Lovely and quiet.Nice cove with white sand next to hotel.We had apartment 225 which was 1st floor,1 bedroom,air conditioned,fridge,2 ring cooker,electric kettle and microwave.Terrace with table and chairs and spectacular views of Bay of Palma.Flat screen tv with sky news etc.Maid service was efficient and though I suppose the apts. were a little dated they were spotlessly clean and had all kitchen equipment you would need.Loved our stay her.Lovely during the day,quiet at night with all the nightlife,bars etc. you could wish for in Maga/Palma Nova just a 15minute stroll downhill.No children allowed in hotel or apts.

“ Top Tip: Personally I would choose the apartments and take the Half Board option in the Hotel,especially if on a budget.
