Sol Balmoral Hotel

“ Our stay at Mastines was great apart from the staff, in particular the dining staff.
Antonia Duarte (I think that's how her name is spelt) was to say the least, unfriendly and unco-operative. We had a small child with us and asked to reserve a table for 5 so we could all dine to-gether but according to her no one was allowed to reserve tables despite the fact we could see reserved signs all around. A bit of an argument got up which she was part of and when she realised she was in the wrong she conveniently announced 'No comprende'. Rafael was not much help either, it left a nasty taste in our mouths as we seemed to be the butt of there jokes for the rest of our stay. Normally we would have tipped quite handsomely but not this time, however the cleaning staff were excellent as were the kids entertainers.

“ Top Tip: The small beach with the 'thousand' steps down to it was well worth the effort. Nice polite young man collecting money for sun beds.

“ WE WERE ALLOCATED THE MASTINES HOTEL INSTEAD OF THE BALMORAL WHICH WAS THE NICEST HOTEL IN MY OPINION DUE TO THE FANTASTIC VIEWS AND LARGEST RESTAURANT. I WOULD RETURN IF I COULD BE GUARANTEED THIS HOTEL OR THE CHIHUAHUAS BUT NOT THE BALMORAL (AS WE HAD STAYED THERE BEFORE AND WAS MUCH MORE BASIC WITHOUT THE VIEWS). THE FOOD WAS SUPERB AND BETTER THAN ANY FOUR STAR HOTEL. THE ONLY COMPLAINT I WOULD HAVE IS THE OVERCROWDING IN THE ENTERTAINMENT AREA AT THE CHIHUAHUAS. THERE WERE TWICE AS MANY PEOPLE AS SEATS AT ONE STAGE IN THE EVENING.
THERE WERE ALWAYS ENOUGH SUNBEDS AND ALTHOUGH THERE WERE LONG QUEUES AT TIMES IN THE BARS, THEY MOVED QUICKLY. THE POOR BARMEN WERE WORKED VERY HARD AND DESERVE LOTS OF TIPS!

“ Top Tip: VISIT TIFFANYS AND THE IRISH BAR, WHICH ARE A SHORT WALK AWAY. THE SHOPS NEARBY ARE QUITE GOOD FOR SOUVENIRS.

“ basic 3* - room,food not too bad but repetative, only one bar, so queing inevitable. Staff very friendly and welcoming.

“ Top Tip: NICE CLIFF WALKWAY TO TWO SMALL BEACHES

“ The hotel Balmoral is 3 star and as such the decor reflects this. But the room was cleaned, beds made and towels changed every day. We stayed all inclusive which was best option. Basically food available from 7.30am -Midnight. Food was good, cold food cold and hot food hot, with a good selection but not exotic. Basically something available for all tastes with cooks topping up regularly and cooking at grill in front of you.
Plenty of sun beds at this hotel but not so many at the linked hotels. Entertainment/Kids club staff work very hard as did waiters and bar staff, all friendly.
A good holiday for the price - do not expect the Ritz!!

Down sides - no air conditioning in room had a ceiling fan.
- room bit small (one double and set bunk beds)
- show didn't start properly until 10pm and needed to be seated by
8.30pm otherwise no chance of a seat.

“ Top Tip: If you are after a Beach holiday do not book here as Callas De Mallorca is on cliffs with one beach about 15 minute walk around the cliff promenade or pay for resort train.
