Built in 1964 by the prestigious architect D. José Maria Coderch, the building is known over the boarders for being something special. The Meliá de Mar is without any doubt one of the most charismatic hotels on the island and is one of the best examples of modern Architecture on the Balearic Islands. Since a couple of years ago, the building is under protection of the historical patrimony. With its 7 floors, right in front of the Mediterranean Sea, the building emphasises on modernity, quality and design.

“ Had a very pleasant stay . Only one problem on my last day I was told by the female receptionist later that day there would be a room organised to change and shower before my flight for an hour . At 3pm I asked for the key and was told there was no room available and was advised the only place was the spa area . Not what you expect of a 5* hotel and the receptionist had an uncaring argumentative bad attitude .
“ Top Tip: Shops across the road to stock up on water at 50c a bottle the hotels are 3,50 euros . iiyetas beach turn left out of the hotel and walk for 15 mins a lovely walk and well worth it .

“ Lovely hotel with lovely surroundings and facilities. Staff dont speak good English and getting one of them to explain what "The Level" includes is impossible. the staff are very lovely people. Watch out for hidden extras!
“ Top Tip: Drinks at the bon sol bar are in a lovely setting and much cheaper.

Hotel was lovely although i wouldn't say it was a 5 Star maybe 4 star plus.
Although everyone was pleasant ,was offered no information about Illetes itself . Was only given a map of Palma and not told about excursions etc. restaurants nearby tended to only serve burger and chips etc when I would have like better choice. We found one restaurant relativley near is that we went to which was quite good but otherwise we had to go to Palma.
“ Top Tip: Bar up and accross the road , I think was english was good for sangria and football if you are into that.

“ Fantastic hotel, have been a frequent visitor over the last 6 years. The location of this hotel make it a perfect base for sunbathing and shopping in Palma with the ease of going into town on the bus (yes the bus!!!) in 15 mins. It is very relaxing, a great place to remove yourself from daily stresses and allow the staff to look after you - which they do very well. The refurbishment gives the hotel a completly differnet feel, however i still really like it, with the exception of the music. they used to have vioilin players at breakfast and they are no longer their and the piped music runs from 12am - 12 pm. The sound of the sea if far more appealing than the piped music =so i was glad i had my ipod - my only real criticism. Would highly recommend, but not for children.
“ Top Tip: Take a taxi to Port Portals for dinner, it is very cheap to get to in taxi and wide selection of restaurants to suit your budget. Across the road is Louis which is also good. Illetas is a very sleepy village that will not suit everyone, however the action/restaurants & bars are only a short taxi away.

The Hotel Bendinat is a beautifully kept small four star and Mediterranean boutique hotel with spacious gardens and lovely terraces that offers a traditional and welcoming atmosphere. Located at the seafront within the bay of Palma, hidden in the exclusive residential area of Bendinat, the hotel itself has a rocky beach and a direct access to the sea, where swimming and diving can be practiced. For those who prefer a sandy beach, there is one only 500 metres away. Puerto Portals marina is 1,5 kms from the hotel and the heart of Palma is just 9 kms away. There is a bus stop 300 metres from the door. New concept and design at the breakfast buffet and improved Internet wireless connection starting Season 2012.
