Riu Bonanza Park Hotel

“ We were booked to go to the Bonanza Park but ended up in the Bonanza Palace. This was as the other was being redecorated. We were very lucky as it was far more luxurious and a very pleasant surprise.

“ We didn't stay at the bonanza park hotel, it must have been very quiet, so they moved us across to the bonanza playa. It was an excellent hotel. We had lovely sea views from our balcony. Breakfast and dinner were buffets, and were of a very high standard. The staff, throughout the hotel were friendly and courteous, and nothing seemed to be too much trouble. We had our 10 month old baby with us and needed a kettle for his bottles and this was given to us without any problem. The location is superb and very handy for the airport. We were the first to be dropped off and last to be collected, which was good. A bus right outside the hotel takes you to Palma, think they must run about every 15minutes.
I would definitely recommend this hotel, I love Illetas and have been here many times. I think the park hotel would also be of a high standard, it's still a 4 star, but a bit cheaper. We hope to be back soon!

“ Top Tip: Illetas beach is a short walk from the hotel and is well worth a look. There is a stylish bar there where we had a couple of excellent sangrias! Also, shop down the road, across from the Barcelo albatross sold bottles of wine from 2.5€, great for us since baby goes to bed early, so we could have a couple on the balcony.

“ Top Tip: Nice walk into Portal Nous and good bus service into Palma.

“ Although booked for the Bonanza Park Hotel, we actually stayed in the Bonanza Playa Hotel across the road. (The Park Hotel had not yet opened.) We had stayed in both hotels in the past and had no problem with the switch. Rooms in the Playa have just been refurbished and are very modern and comfortable. Meals are superb with a wide range of local and international dishes. Staff at reception, cleaning staff and restaurant staff are all friendly and efficient. It is reassuring to see many of the same faces year after year. The hotel is located right on the sea with uninterrupted views across the Bay of Palma for more or less all rooms.

“ Top Tip: Three tips; 1) The bus service from the hotel door is frequent, and at €1.50 is a bargain. 2) The train trip from Palma to Soller with the wooden tram from Soller to Port Soller is a must. 3) Try the Pere Seda white and red wines - made on the island and quite delicious.
