Tryp Palma Bosque Hotel

“ Hotel a little way away from the sea front and the centre of Palma but still within fairly easy walking distance. Prices in bar were good value and cheaper than a lot of the bars in the centre of town. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice and enough for everyone - only minor compliant was queue for coffee machine.

Room spacious and clean, mini bar with some soft drinks and beer - we used this to chill some wine bought from the nearby supermarket to drink on balcony before going out! Only moan about the room was the lack of tea and coffee making facilities

Staff were very helpful and pleasant

All in all good value for money wouldny hesitate to stay here again if coming to Palma for long weekend

“ This hotel is quite near the main places of interest and was ideal for our 4 night break. The rooms were clean and durig our stay the bed was changed after 2 nights. The staff were friendly and quite helpful. Only ate one meal there - a buffet which was ok. Pre-ordered/paid for breakfast each morning. This was of good standard and plenty of choice. Useful that there is a small taxi rank at the bottom of the road, partiicularly for an early airporrt departure. Hotel used by businessmen/women/school/student parties and airberlin staff. Would consder this hotel for any future visit to Palma.

“ Top Tip: Would recommmend the Palma city sightseeing bus - good value and great for seeing all on offer in Palma during a short break. Adult 15 euros. Senior citizen 65 plus half price.

“ This is essentially a business hotel on the outskirts of Palma city and short walk to the Marina area. We stayed during the snow (the first time in 60 years) in Mallorca. For this reason alone we chose the hotel well - the heating in the room was brilliant!
The room itself was standard yet comfortable and very clean. It had everything and more you would expect from a 3 Star. The extras were as good as any 4 Star in UK. There was a hairdryer;essentials kit (comb, shoe shine etc); liquid hand soap and hair/shower gel. Clean white towels every day.

As with every European holiday destination the English TV choice was rubbish. I do love the BBC but BBC World as the only choice of worth does get a bit much! I can only think that the English channels charge more than the German stations so we only get BBC World.

Food. Don't book this hotel half-board in the winter, as the main restaurant is breakfast only. there is a small restaruant on ground floor open in the evening but only offfers the same set menu each evening. This menu rotates after 7 days. there are 4 or 5 choices per course. Having said that, it was a bargain! 3 courses for 9.95 euros per head and the food was very good. We used this restaurant twice as our 7 night stay straddled two weeks.

Breakfast. Plenty of choice including prepared fruit and proper fruit juice. Although the coffee was from a machine it was good quality espresso with either hot or cold milk. there is table with typical Mallorcian food available at breakfast.

Drinks. Not much difference in price from outside the hotel and a good choice.

The hotel staff were all great and couldn't do enough for us. We got proper, polite good quality service.

“ Top Tip: Coffee is generally of good standard across the Island. if you like Cappucino as it is served in the UK ask for Italian Cappucino. The size of coffee is smaller than UK. Italian Cappucino is about 1 euro more than a standard coffee with milk (Cafe con Leche) and they will adjust the amount of milk to your taste. Appart from coffee chains such as the 'Cappucino' brand which is outstanding, many coffee shops and Restaurants don't get what an Americano is! I suggest that if you want Americano go to a 'Cappucino' coffee shop - there are several in Palma city centre and at the Marina.
Eating Out: There are several cafes and restaurants at the bottom of the hill including Indian; Italian; Cuban; Japanesse; Chinese and Thai. Those we tried were OK - not too expensive.

Getting about: There are several bus services at bottom of hill (this is not a steep hill). No 3 goes directly into city. You can get a 10 trip ticket for 10 euro at the nearby Tabac (tobaconist) which saves some money and is more convenient. One ticket can be used for 2 passangers - just swipe it twice!




NB if you want to eat in the evening be aware that the Mallorcian way is to eat around 8:30 - 10pm. Many people work until 8 or 9 so wont eat out until 10! You may want to eat lunch and have a siesta as the Mallorcans do!
