“ This is a nice hotel, the staff, in particular the bar staff, are very friendly and give great service. The pools areas are fab with a generous amount of sun loungers and is very clean. The pool side bar offering snacks & drinks was excellent. We were on Half board which is a buffett that offered good selection. The only negative I could offer about the restaurant was that on our 1st night it was so buy we had to queue outside! Not what you would expect of a 4 star hotel. The hotel caters towards its German customers as they were the predominent cliental, satelite tv all german channels etc, not a problem for us as we weren't there to watch tv! The only real downside to this hotel is the truelly uncomfortable beds. sounds trivial, but I had to put 2 quilts on top of the mattress as the bed was SO hard, but it was still uncomfy- don't think I could have slept longer than the 5 nights we stayed. I know other people felt the same and some slept on the pull out beds that we had in the Junior Suites. That being said, we had a lovely relaxing stay and would go back.

El Vistamar, is a very good hotel, very good instalations, I dont like the bed because is not double, and the water in the shower and in the sink was sweet, looks like you are having shower from the sea water.
The food is very nice and the staffs aswell. The Porto Colom area is a place for reast, if you are looking for that.

Pleasant week in the hotel. Me and my wife ( both 32) wanted quiet hotel and El vistamar was perfect as most of the guests are in their 50's and 60's .Very polite staff ( speaking german and english) , modern rooms with tv, towels changed daily.
On the other side we had to pay extra to use fridge in the room, night entertainment poor ( aimed at older guests) and the food was tasty but become boring at the end of our stay.
Next year the hotel will be available for adults only.

“ After reading previous reviews we thought "what are we in for ?" The accomodation was more than we had expected. Clean, roomy and a great view of the perfect beach, which was only a stones throw away, from a large balcony.

“ We have visited the Cala Marsal hotel many times over the past 10 or so years and it always delivers lovely clean and well run accommodation and very friendly staff with great service. The hotel is very quiet in October which suites us but might not suit people who want more entertainment and activities.

“ prior to booking the reviews were not favourable,how wrong can these be the room was so spacious,I have never slept in such a large bed,we did not have sea views but that didnt matter,it was so clean and very modern and comfortable.

The hotel was renovated in 2001 and consists of a 6-storey building with a total of 323 rooms, of which 6 are singles and 317 are doubles. There is a 24-hour reception, a lobby, a safe, a currency exchange desk and a lift. There are 2 in-house bars, a games room, a TV room and a restaurant. The building is fitted with Internet access, as well as a kids' club.

Hotel Barcelo Ponent Playa is situated on Cala Ferrera beach, in the beautiful resort of Cala D'or in south-western Majorca. This hotel is in a quiet, peaceful location, but close to a tourist area buzzing with activity round the clock. There is a wide variety of services to choose from along with a program of entertainment. Facilities include a buffet restaurant, 3 bars and a poolside snack bar (summer only) as well as a games room, indoor heated swimming pool, sauna and children's playground.
“ I just want to tell you a little bit about the hotel , in general the hotel was alright but the bed room which was we were in it was not good, and bath room was not nice. The good thing was we spent our holiday in the sun shine and beach, nice entertaiment every nights. Last thing I want say it was great to have travel with Travel Republic. Thanks a lot
