The appartment contained all we needed, it was clean and airey with our maid coming in every other day to change towels and to clean. We were self catering but had the opportunity to use hotel fascilities and have meals, which were very good. Only one problem, the noise of the traffic outside was rather off putting at times.

Top Tip: We felt one of the best meals we had in the evening was at the hotel Daina, and was value for money.

We booked a studio appartment which we discovered are all at the front of the building overlooking the street with a small balcony. The apartments have obviously been renovated fully for 2012 so are bright and clean. The studio itself is "compact" with 2 single beds pushed together to make a sizeable double bed against the back wall. Storage space is limited to a double wardrobe with top shelf and thre inset shelves. Fortunately our cases fitted under the bed but larger, hard shell, ones may not. The kitchennette was perfectly useable for simple meals with 2 halogen rings and a microwave but no oven. A toaster and kettle are provided so work surfaces are very small and we had to swap plugs around at times. The fridge if a great asset and not tiny. A small breakfast bar with 2 high stools was on the wall opposite the bed with a wide screen flat TV above it. We could get BBC1, BBC2, CBBC & channel 4, plus 4 films for those deserate for some English TV! we didn't eat here as it was invariably used for keeping bits of our stuff on. About 5 - 6ft space was between the end of the bed and the breakfast bar. and a foot or so either side of the bed. A beside shelf was on either side and wall lights plus a reading lamp. We watched the TV from the bed as the breakfast bar was right on top if it (see the site pictures for the studio which shows the bed)
The seperate bathroom was fine with a large walk in shower, very powerfull. We get maid service 3 days per week with new towels each time and bedding changed twice on our 10 night stay. large glass sliding doors open onto the balcony, the full length of the room almost The downside to the studio is that ther are no views with apartments facing us across the relatively narrow.street. The other noticeable problem was the early morning wake up call from the daily bin wagon at 5:50am which we heard every morning emptying bottles, especially if you want to sleep with the patio door slightly open. The studio does have air conditioning as an altermative but I guess that too would be slightly noisy (we never used it apart from to heat he place as it was cold when we arrived!). We ate on the balcony for breakfast in the morning sun (table and 2 chairs) but deliveries to the hotels and shops opposite made it a fairly noisy experience up until around 10:00am when it quietened down. We didn't find eveninings and overnight too bad at all for noise. There is only 1 bar a bit further down but it was early season. I had the chance to sneak into the 1 bed appartment next door (it was being renovated during our stay and no, I am not a cat burglar!). They have the added advantage of a seperate double bedroom at the rear of the bulding with a second , much larger, balcony / terrace facing the back so sleeping here would be a totally different experience. These have more living space, obviously, at the front with the same Kitchenette but the microwave built in above for a bit extra surface area and 2 seats / sofas in the middle on either wall which can be made into extra beds for 4 occupants. They also have a 2nd TV in the bedroom! The sun is on the back in the afternoon but note that even some apartments on the 1st floor won't get much sun because they are shaded by a nearby new build which was constructed over the last year and is now ready for opening so work is finished there. I suggest apartments mumbered 31,32 & 34 for the best outdoor room and sunlight. You aren't greatly overlooked at the back with the nearest appartments some way away and views over them of the mountains whereas the studios and front of the appartments offer no views at all. Overall the accomodation is good, ok our Kitchen mixer tap wobbled a litle but I didn't report it so I can't complain. The kitchen sink was small but, hey! we are on holiday so we only prepared a few basic meals there. They utilise the cupboard abvove the sink as the drainer with a drip tray below the plate rack as in other holiday distinations so we washed up with the door open as it was easier. I would go back there but would pay a bit extra for an apartment if only for the quiter sleeping experience and more outside room in the afternoon when the sun had gone around. The main hotel opposite will let you have a buffet breakfast, very good apparnetly with plenty of choice for hot and cold food, for 7 euros and the beach and front is only 30 seconds from teh apartment front door

Top Tip: Tribeca Restaurant further down on the same side as the apartments does very good English restaurant style food (not cafe eating) and pricing is simple. Some of the main courses i.e pasta or curry aren't massive so we ordered a side dish. It closes on Saturdays so we booked in advance a it gets quite busy. We also ate at the Spanish restaurant facing Tribeca on the same side, nearer to the apartments. Their set meal was great value at 8.50 Euros for 2 course and a glass of wine or beer. Their other menu was very good too

Thank you Daina for a very enjoyable and comfortable stay. When we arrived we were told the apartments were closed but then they said we were upgraded. When we arrived in our room on the 7th floor, we were astounded to find a 180 degree view of pt. pollensa, marine, beach, promenade and mountains, stunning to say the least. They also included a free buffet breakfast.

Thank you travel republic and thank you to Daina, we will certainly be back.

Top Tip: We found several good restaurants, especially the chinese restaurant Plaza in the market square, and hibiscus, mojita too.

All friendly people everywhere.
