“ Good small hotel, friendly/helpful staff. Food: rather too much garlic for me but otherwise good.

“ Top Tip: Competa is a lovely,small, old fassioned hill town. Excelent bars (with tapas).
Good local hill walking.
Easy access to the coast and Grenada (1 1/2) hours but road to the coast may not suit anxious passengers/drivers.

“ It is a lovely typical old Spanish hotel, the staff and manager cannot do enough to accomadate you. unlike other hotels that I have stayed in you are not paying over the odds for your drinks etc, prices for all drinks and food are very reasonable. although the morning buffet is set for a typical continental breakfast, English one's are available on request there and then.

This hotel is situated high up in the hills and you will need some sort of transport to get around but it is well worth a visit, it is the best three star you will get for your money.

“ Top Tip: if you are not (half or full board) There are plenty of nice restaurants within walking distance of this hotel just ask the staff. but you will need a car etc, to reach the nearest beach.

“ Letter coming in the post regarding the hotel. Staff were very pleasant and helpful, but their bar and restuarant were closed on the Tuesday evening, the swimming pool was not ready cleaned for the season , but worst of all the air conditioning was not working. With night room temperatures of 24 C it was impossible to sleep and several residents refused to pay full price full this lack of a very important facility.
