Extremely welcoming staff who couldn't do enough for you. Lovely clean large room, very nice swimming pool & lots of sunbeds, a little on the small side but perfectly adequate. Breakfast continental & fine. We had menu del dia for lunch & it was gorgeous food & very reasonable. Nice bar area open until late if necessary. All you could want from a mid range hotel. We were very happy & would not think twice about recommending it to anyone

We had a great time here, all the staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel is in a perfect position for visiting Frigliana and the coast. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The food was the best that we have had during 10 years in Spain. We will definitely recommend it.

We stayed at the hotel for four nights and took the half board option. My husband asked for vegetarian food and was very pleased with the evening meals the hotel offered. We found the hotel to be located in a beautiful village near the mountains and the views were always spectacular. We were very happy with the room and the service offered and we found the staff to be very eager to communicate with us in our broken spanish. We found the whole experience to be very relaxing and we will certainly be booking again for next June 2012.

Top Tip: We stumbled across a tiny village called Maro - which is well worth a visit and we also visited a very excellent Indian Restaurant situated at the back of the hotel. The food was very good and the price was very reasonable.

Very very nice hotel, although we found it with difficulty. Its on the main street. Nice, slightly smaller than average room but very confortable. The balcony overlooked the main street but this was no problem. Cleaned every morning. We were there in October and there seemed to be a slight shortage of staff but this did not affect us. Breakfast was fine, buffet style in the main restaurant. Dinner was OK - you had two choices for starter, main and dessert. We found this adequate. Parking could be a problem as the main street was used but don't let this put you off. The Hotel is nice and comfortable and I see no reason for not going back.

We got this hotel at a fantastic price through TR in October 2011. Less than £19 each per night half board. We sent a message through TR asking for a vegetarian meal to be put by for our late arrival (after midnight) and when we got to the hotel, a cold meal was ready to be served by Manuel the jolly night porter. We didn't expect the message to get through, so that was a result.
The hotel itself is fairly new and is in a Neo Traditional Spanish style with a touch of Disney. Rooms are spacious and spotlessly clean with good beds and furniture. We had 2 balconies and good views of the mountains and town from our 'promo' room. You do look out onto a road which is quite busy with local traffic from early in the morning, so take earplugs if you are a light sleeper.
There is no kettle in the room and the TV is tiny. There are no flashy extras and toiletries are minimal. There's a hairdryer in the bathroom, which is big and clean.

Breakfast is adequate. Good coffee. Fried eggs and bacon (if you eat meat), cheese slices and fresh tomatoes. It's let down by the 'sherbert' orange juice (in the land of oranges!), and cheap quality cereals, bread and inedible long life croissants and pastries. Having said that, there is plenty to give you a good start to the day.

We were on half board, and the young chef excelled himself with our vegetarian evening meals. He took lots of care to give us interesting dishes with herbs and spices that are generally missing from veggie options. Probably the best vegetarian food we have ever had in Spain, and we go a lot. Well done to him and all the friendly staff.

Be careful with parking. The hotel has no car park. You have to park in the road, probably back down the hill on the right if the town is busy. Don't park in the lorry park next to the hotel or you'll get a ticket if you are unfortunate enough to time it with one of the local police 'purges'.

The pool is small the sun never reaches it. The sun comes to the terrace in the afternoon, and if you are brave enough the pool is fun for an icy dip.

Good free wifi available from the hotel in the ground floor area.

So, at the price it was tremendous value and the evening meals memorable for us veggies.

I believe the hotel is closed November to March.

Top Tip: Theres a great walk up the river bed if you go down into the valley between the Virtudes restaurant and the bank. Follow the water course for about half a mile to the reservoir and have a swim surrounded by natural beauty. There's a sing that says 'no swimming' but it's full at certain times of the year for the locals to use. Even if you don't swim, it's a lovely walk.

Frigiliana is a pretty village to walk around, and is kept spotless by the proud villagers.

There is a long sandy beach in Nerja which is a bout 8 miles away. Go all the way down to the coast road and take a right. Turn left into the entrance of Marinas de Nerja, (about half a mile) then immediately left again, then right and park before the beach in one of the bays. You can also walk along the sand into Nerja from there.
