This small hotel is for nature lovers and peace seekers. Idyllic mountain solitude, and excellent hearty local food from the kitchen. Walkers will find it a great base, but a car is a must. Off the beaten track, but only half a mile from the beautiful town of Istan, which has historic interest and a few bars and restaurants. Marbella and Puerto Banus are a half hour drive away.
The rooms are spacious, in an unpretentious rustic-style, and the staff - Paqui and Ortega are very friendly and helpful without being intrusive. Speaking Spanish will do no harm!

“ What a lovely rustic place to stay. Easy to find, lots of signs on road to Istan. Views are spectacular. Hotel was nice and clean bathroom although not 4 star was fine/clean..Beds comfy and rooms have airconditioning, we went in Sep; 30 degrees ! Booking in was not a problem, greeted by a lovely lady Paqui who lives in the village and will give you information in broken english (part of the charm) on where to eat etc. They have a small pool which is nice, you may have to scoop a few bugs out with the fishing net but nothing to worry about. We were going to give the breakfast a miss, but the view over the resevoir is worth a few € Breakfast was one piece of toast, jam, orange juice and coffee, so very basic. We only stayed one night in September but we were glad we did, cannot recommend this hotel highly enough if you like peace and quite and stunning surroundings. Must be getting old !!!!
“ Top Tip: Instan is only a couple of miles from hotel, we drove car as it is a bit hilly (read lazy) they have a couple of free car parks so parking not a problem (ask Paqui.) Lovely authentic spanish village, nice restaurants. Take your empty water bottles and fill them in the village as they have numerous public taps to use. water is lovely, cool and refreshing, don't worry locals use these taps, hey I'm still here aren't I ? Hello.?
