“ Excellent hotel . Reception very efficient and friendly. Rooms immaculate and housekeeping standards high. Food, however, very disappointing - this was my seventh stay at Hotel S'Algar and the standard of food has always been low. I was on B&B basis but ate in on two evenings and for Euro 18 it did not represent value for money. Pool and poolside service excellent as ever. I would always go back - better the Devil you know!!

This is a lovely, traditional hotel which would appeal more to young families or older people. The Hotel is exceptionally clean and well cared for, the staff always pleasant and helpful. This is the place for a very quiet, peaceful break. Not recommended if you want a lot of night life (that can be had up the road at the San Louis Hotel!)
There could be a problem with steps if you have mobility problems.
It has lovely tropical gardens and guests use the super Lido pool across the quiet road. There is no beach here, as it is a diving area. You can swim off the rocks or walk for 15 mins to next bay, Cala Alcufar - the most beautiful sandy inlet - set back in time!
We would recommend the S'Algar - have been going here for 6 years now.
“ Top Tip: The beach in next bay - Cala Alcufar. Lovely for families, or to just sit under the pine trees enjoying a sangria and watching the world go by. Another guest commented that it was like going back to 30 years ago when it was just a small fishing village. Also you can hop on the local bus quite easily if you want to go into Mahon for shopping.

“ The hotel was good. We did not get the room we wanted. We probably had one of the most dreary as it was on the ground floor, with little or no view, but did have the basic facilities.
“ Top Tip: The swimming pool area was good.

“ The holiday was very relaxing nd the hotel was just what we wanted - breakfast and Dnner were very varid and the quality good. We enjoyed the large pool and the nearby snorkelling. If you want to see the island you need a car, 3 days within a 7 day stay is enough to see plenty.

“ We find this hotel very well run. The staff are most pleasant and helpful and because it is a family owned hotel (along with its sister Hotel - San Luis) it is excellent in every way. The San Luis is much more suited to younger people - with more entertainment. Most of this entertainment and the facilities can, however, be used by the guests at the Hotel S'algar. The food is varied and very well presented and the dining room overlooks the sea and the attractive swimming pool area.
“ Top Tip: Alcufar (a small village) with a lovely beach is a 15 min walk away and is quite special.
