Built in 2002 and comprising a total of 120 suites spread over 3 floors, there is a foyer with 24-hour reception desk, 5 lifts, a bar, a TV room, an air-conditioned restaurant with a non-smoking area, a bike hire service and a laundry service. Younger guests may make use of the playground and there is a kids' club for those aged from 4 to 12 years of age. New Spa from 2008The apartment hotel lies just 150 m from the beach. The immediate vicinity offers a small yacht harbour with a variety of restaurants, bars and shops. Ciudadela is around 10 km from the hotel and public transport departs from stops located just 50 m from the hotel.The comfortable apartments come with a bathroom with hairdryer. Further fittings include a direct dial telephone, a combined living room/bedroom, a kitchenette, a minibar/ fridge, air conditioning, central heating, a separate bedroom, a hire safe and a balcony or terrace.There is a swimming pool and additional children's pool, a poolside/snack bar and a sun terrace with sun loungers and parasols. For those wishing to keep fit, aerobics can be tried out and on payment of an additional fee, guests may play table tennis, billiards or snooker. New Spa from 2008. The neighbouring hotel offers 4 tennis courts as well as basketball and volleyball (around 200m away). Golfers may enjoy and round of golf on the course that lies around 35 km away. “ The hotel was fab, appartment is one of the nicest I have ever stayed in - cleaned and towels changed every day. I have read previous reviews about ants but must say that we did not see 1 during our 10 night stay. The appartment overlooked the pool which was lovely, never any problem getting a sun lounger. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. We were B&B and the selection at breakfast was very good. It is not a 'party' hotel and therefore I would not say it was ideal for groups of young people lookin for a wild holiday. The location is excellent - 2 mins to the nearest beach and 2 mins to the marina couldn't ask for more. The only reason I have not given it a 10 and it a minor point really, was that we were informed that there was a range of english TV channels however there was only BBC2 and ITV which worked consistantly. The staff did try and sort it out but to no avail. It wasn't a huge issue as we only really had the TV at tea time whilst getting ready to go out or for a short period just before bed. Overall a lovely hotel, in a great location - ideal for a relaxing holiday

Bahia Restaurant on the Marina - great shellfish paella and roast shoulder of lamb!
Larger beach approx 10 min walk away really lovely, with a number of bars and restaurant overlooking sea.

“ entertainment in the hotel was very poor, 9.30 until 10.30 and I was refused a drink at 11.15 because they had already closed the bar , also they started putting the lights out while we were still drinking. i remonstrated with the bar staff and they soon put them back on again. other than that I thought it was an excellent hotel , and excellent choice of food and very well run.

very friendly reception staff.
rooms / apartments are nice and large and airy with good well equipped areas. cleaned daily and done to good standard.
minor blips include having to pay deposit for a room based tv remote control; also having to pay deposit for pool towels.
need to time breakfast to avoid looking for a cleared / set table - but breakfast choice is very good,
biggest issue for us was not having wi-fi in rooms (self employed needs) and only accessible in public reception area

The Barcelo Hamilton is situated in a beautiful and peaceful area in the port of Mahon, capital city of the island of Menorca. This is the ideal hotel for business trips to Menorca as well as for anyone on vacation t this enchanting island where visitors can discover its magnificent landscape. The hotel includes many features and facilities, including a buffet/a la carte restaurant. The hotel is only 800 m from Cala Padera beach, 3 km from the city centre of Mahon and 7 km from the Menorca airport.
“ had a good holiday, found this hotel suitable for us (65plus) as we were looking for a quiet break, food excellent something for everyone, rooms a little too modern but well looked after, lacking a fridge for your water if nothing else, air conditioning not working but this has been a problem since the upgrade of some rooms, they hope to get this fixed when they complete the upgrade.

“ A really lovely, quiet hotel. some good entertainment every evening with a mini disco for children. You do need to get there early to get a seat though! We really loved the aqua aerobics every day and all the team were really enthusiastic and helpful.

“ A wonderful hotel! Staff very friendly and helpful, hotel very well kept and clean, but best of all the food is excellent, good variety to suit all tastes. The room was spacious and well located opposite the pool the only problem encountered was there was no wall handrail in the bath/shower which was difficult and unsafe for the elderly relative I was travelling with.
