Grupotel Tamariscos Hotel

“ The hotel was really nice in a good location with lovely views, nice and quiet. The beach adjacent was lovely with clear turquoise water, but busy. The interior of our apartment was of a really generous size, with a great terrace overlooking the lighthouse on the headland and the pool and the rocks. The furnishings were simple and practical, with pretty curtains, the only criticism is that the sofa bed had poor foam matresses on wooden slats to sleep on, and they were uncomfortable as you could feel the slats through the matress. The beds in the main bedroom were fine.

The pool area was lovely because it was quiet (no piped music) and there was some shade from the palm trees above, so good for kids. YOu can directly access the beach down paths from the pool area, so it was safe for our teenage kids to go off where they wanted, and there is plenty of grass to lie on on the cliffs if you get fed up with the number of people around the pool, or the not particularly comfortable lounge chairs.

The entertainment was pretty dire - there were professional groups performing twice a week, and whilst they were good, it was strange choices like an irish dancing group. the next door hotel which you could access had entertainment every night, but it was awful.

The marina next to the hotel had a wide choice of restaurants and bars and was a great place to go for a meal (expensive due to Euro). We did not, however, find any restaurants which offered very interesting affordable food.

“ Top Tip: Don't miss going to Cuitadella, which is very beautiful, unspoilt and there are good restaurants in the harbour area and an amazing ice cream shop opposite the cathedral.

“ Gorgeous setting. Every apartment appears to have the most stunning views. Apartment was spacious and clean. Right near the harbour for all the lovely restaurants (we were spoilt for choice). Entertainment appeared to be located at the hotel next door though we didn't take advantage of it.
To sum up... a beautiful place defo worth another visit

“ Love this place for the location and closeness of beach,shops and restaurants. Been coming since 2003 but is not quite what it used to be in regards to entertainment,maintaining of pool area. Recognition of repeat guests would've been nice too,but this is down to current management. Favourite and quietest pool is one adjacent to the bar,but could do with tidy up every night! Too many deflated floats,buckets etc laying about!Kitchen area adequate,2 rings, fridge-freezer.Noticed lots comments about no kettle and toaster,but small pan is just as good for boiling water,and pan tostado is available in every shop!As are fresh croissants/pastries from the shop infront of the Marina Hotel.

“ Top Tip: The Avanti restaurant has always been our favourite as the food and service even more so are outstanding. I and my children are recongnised and welcomed by the waiting staff every year!Beach is very busy in August,not as many sunbeds as in the past,but that is down to which Playero is running the beach this year. Prices for sunbeds and umbrella have only gone up 2 euros over the past 8 year, so still good value for Menorca.
