Marinda Garden

“ Had a lovely time at the Marinda Gardens on a self-catering basis. Did not use the restaurant as there are so many lovely places in/around the harbour to eat out as cheaply or as expensively as you wanted. Reception staff were really friendly and helpful and cleaning staff did a great job. Pool area was nice with a separate smaller kiddies pool and enough sunbeds for all.

Apartment was basic and needed a lick of new paint to be honest but it was very clean and for £100 total (£50 each) for a 4 night stay we were very happy with it - I have stayed in a lot worse for a lot more money!!! Kitchen had a kettle, toaster, microwave, fridge (with small freezer compartment), cutlery, plates/cups/bowls, utensils, couple of pots and pans for the 2-ring electric hob, tea-towel, bin, etc. - everything you needed if you wanted to cook basic meals in the apartment. Bedroom was quite large and had a wardrobe with some clothes hangers in and a few drawers and beds were actually quite comfy. Bathroom had a small bath/shower but was adequate with clean towels every day (except on non-cleaning days Wed & Sun) and a few little complimentary toiletries (soap, shampoo and bath gel) which was a nice touch.

The apartments are spread out in small rotunda-style buildings consisting of 2 levels/floors with approx 6 apartments in each block. We had a 2nd floor apartment (2605) near reception and I agree with other comments made that if you can get an upstairs apartment then you have much more privacy. We had the sun all day on our balcony but did not spend much time on it as we like to get out and about. We were visiting early May (5-9th) and it was very quiet when we arrived but on 7/8 May quite a few more people seemed to arrive and we were kept awake until the early hours by other guests having a good time. We don't mind a bit of noise, in fact we expect some, and I ALWAYS bring ear plugs on hols just in case but having to listen to the same bloke shouting his mouth off for 2 nights running did grate on me!! If you like quiet then get a room further away from the reception/bar/restaurant area! We did enjoy our stay here and cannot complain about anything with regard to the apartment. They are situated literally a few mins walk to the harbour and just a few more mins walk to the beach. We would come to the Marinda Apartments again.

“ Top Tip: Ask for a 2nd floor apartment as more privacy, especially if you want to sit outside on the balcony - lower apartments only have a terrace with people walking past every 5 mins. If you don't like noise at night then try get an apartment away from the reception area.

“ Rooms were very clean and tidy, never been bitten so many times in my life though.
Food was very poor and had to make good use of the microwave in the dining room as food was warm at best.
Good surroundings with plenty of sun beds and umbrellas.
Pool area was very nice.
Adult entertainment in October was limited.
