Aquarium Hotel

“ It was early in the season and the hotel was quiet, but nevertheless the staff were very attentive. I was impressed with their efforts to provide a breakfast that would suit the variety of nationalities. It was a pity the lift broke down.

“ Top Tip: Hire a car if you have a problem walking up hills. Don't hire it from Owners Cars unless you carefully check the costs. My cost doubled on arrival at the airport and I was virtually blackmailed into paying the same amount again.

“ For the price, this hotel exceeded my expectations. The location - if you want close proximity to a beach - is excellent. There are restaurants within walking distance, but they are not the best in the area. The supermarkets, restaurants, local retailers are a 10 minute walk - but be aware that the walk is either up a reasonable hill, or a steep flight of steps. This may not suit those who are more mature or unfit, but if you're on holiday and not in a hurry then it will be manageable for most. The hotel pool is wonderful, as is the beach that is about a flat 2 minute walk. I did not eat at the hotel so can't review the food. The area is very quiet at night - suited me perfectly. Thanks for a very easy, enjoyable stay.

“ We were disappointed with the hotel initially as it was quiet and rather run down. The breakfast had many food options but anything cooked was really poor including bacon and fried eggs for example. However, the quietness was welcomed later in the week, the pool was relatively unused, the absolutely superb beach is only a short level walk away and the staff were friendly.

The main town and restaurants are at the top of the hill, about a 130 very steep steps away or a long steep hill. Although I was disappointed initially I would actually go back as with car it is a good base. Food in the town is not cheap eg pizza for example is €8-9 or £8-9. No food at the hotel

“ Top Tip: Go to the Club Mediterranean terrace overlooking the cove. Run down but cheap beers and fabulous views at sunset. For food go inland to the main towns. The restaurant Las Vagas in Es Coriel was great - super Spanish 3 course lunch for €8.60

“ What this hotel lacks in style it makes up for everything with the attitude & friendliness of the staff! Very nice basic three star hotel, simple food, nice rooftop pool. Everyone goes up to the strip up the hill in the evening (if you like noise) so the hotel & beach 50 yards away (with three bars) is lovely & quiet. Perfect spot, lovely beach, very child friendly.
