Mar Blau Apartments

“ Cannot fault the apartments, the cleanliness and new appliances were a bonus.
Pool area and gardens were equally as tidy. There's a little bar/restaurant that does toasties, pasta, pizza and even steaks that is remarkably good value for money.
The only small drawback and it is only small is that it's a good way out from Son Bou centre / restaurants / bars / beach. If you want a lazy week away without the people watching then Mar Blau is for you.

The bar could encourage more people by having themed evenings/ playing music / happy hours etc.

“ Top Tip: Book Bed and Breakfast for that extra few quid the hotel 100 yards from the apartments does a great breakfast which is where you go for it. Sets you up for the day !

Found lovely walk to beach at santo Thomas.

For 12.50euro, recommend Camembert with raspberry
Sauce to start. Nice atmosphere.

“ Excellent apartments, excellent staff. The Mar Blau has recently been renovated and is fresh and spotlessly clean. The wee train (tractor in disguise I think) will transport you to the beach regularly throughout the day. It cheerfully toots outside at the main gate to announce its arrival. Your kinds will love it - I know I did!

Try the snack bar. Really friendly service with take-away as well. So, you can order a couple of nice pizzas and take them back to your apartment and enjoy with your own wine if you prefer. Remember though that it is only the snack bar at the Mar Blau not Cordon Bleu.

“ Top Tip: Country walks are glorious near here as section 15 of the famous Cami de Cavalls (an old bridle path that circumvents the island) is just behind the Jardin de Menorca, a hotel where you will also find your nearest supermarket.

Following the path towards San Thomas, not only will you see beautiful country and wetland views but you will also encounter parts of the coast not accessible by car. I would advise anyone to take their binoculars and inform themselves a little bit about the diverse wildlife that live here. There are various bird species that migrate via the wetlands reserve in Son Bou. The frog chorus in the wetlands that can be heard in the evening, is magnificent. Wild tortoises on Menorca too - wow! Even some who have taken up residence in the grounds of the Mar Blau. Bear in mind these are not sea turtles so please don't half-drown them by 'helping' them to the sea as we saw some uninformed tourists do.

If you enjoy your time here half as much as we did, you will have had a wonderful holiday.
