A good purpose built resort, room not bad with a standard level of decor, bathroom clean (so a big plus), kitchen facilities a little lacking but fine if you are just going to do breakfast and basic lunch. Supermarket on site was well stocked and fresh bread each morning was worth getting up to collect. All onsite entertaiment is in dutch and german but that wasnt what we wanted so wasnt missed. There are two pools which were great as they were shaded by the trees so in the midday heat of August were fantastic to be around (apart from the the piped music from the pool side cafe).
As we ate out each day the resturants we found were a little limited and not very traditional.
But the best part is the beach a few minutes walk through the sand dunes to a sandy beach with crystal clear water that is very shallow a long way out so young children can play and amuse themselves to their hearts content. Great snorkelling further out was great fun for all. The place was popular with the locals and when you see it you understand why...a gem of a cove.
“
Top Tip:
You can walk to the ajacent resort over the cliffs to the east along a well worn footpath, look out for the fingersign posts to direct you.
In the other direction there is a small cove that can only be reached by water or across the cliff tops, which provide stunning views and when you get there a small sandy beach which would be great and romantic if you were the only ones there but unfortantantly others had found it that day before us! so was busy. with big and small boats.

We got what we paid for with the accommodation. Not high quality but cheap and well located. It was 5 minutes walk from a lovely beach - blue clear sea and good sand. Lots of restaurants again, 5 minutes walk away. Reception staff were very helpful and we were able to hire a car for a few days from the hotel very easily.
Self catering facilities were a little basic (double hob and microwave and utensils were poor - only knife was a bread knife and no veg peeler). Sofa was uncomfortable for long sit downs but there were three English channels on the TV (Eurosport, BBC1/2 and a rather flickery ITV). Our accommodation was cleaned every two days including fresh towels and bed linen (no double bed), swept and bathroom cleaned which after a couple of sandy days at the beach is exactly what you want. Pools looked very clean and well maintained by staff. It was a surprisingly quiet area for a resort, we went in September which may have affected that.
It's only suitable for older people if they are steady on their feet as the paths are very slippery when wet.
We really enjoyed our holiday there, very relaxing, but don't go expecting top notch accommodation.
“ Top Tip: Buses from the hotel are cheap and easy to catch to Mahon where you can shop and get a boat trip or Fernells which a is picturesque harbour with a few shops and restaurants.

Set within a conservation area and in the middle of woodland - only the log cabins are missing - this place has a 'very rustic and outdoor' feeling to it. Everything is spread about the grounds (table tennis/volley ball court/crazy golf/solarium/kids club) so no being crowded. Note: crazy golf is not worth 5 euros, a lot of the surfaces have been damaged by the kids.
Meal times were very disappointing and the one part of this holiday we cannot praise. Regardless of which meal (evenings were most definitely the worst), there were children running around the restaurant - climbing on furniture, spilling food on the floor and shouting and screaming whilst their parents sat chatting amongst themselves and drinking copious amounts of the free wine. Sadly the staff did and said nothing. Yes, you can argue that these families are on holiday - but so are we! Usually, when there is a good choice of food to be enjoyed, it is even more enjoyable when you can take your time, relax and unwind. The scenes were so chaotic, that we (and the majority of other couples) rushed in, ate, rushed out again. Such a shame!! From a health & safety point of view, there is most certainly a high risk of an accident - hot foods/bread knife/glasses/crockery/hot beverage machines/food on the floor.
Evening entertainment happened twice in the week we were there and the other nights we played Pool or just chatted with other guests.
All staff throughout the resort were very courteous, friendly and most helpful. They actually looked like they enjoyed their work, giving you a smile and a wave as they passed.
A 5-7 minutes stroll along a path of decking, weaving between the sand dunes, leads you to a picturesque horseshoe bay - and not a sun bed or umbrella to be seen. The sand was clean and white with little seaweed.
We stayed in a one bed self-catered apt.: 1 bedroom, bathroom, living area with bed setee & TV, dining table & chairs and basic kitchen (fridge/microwave/two cooking rings/sink etc). - just right for two, thogh it might be a squeeze for four. Everything and everywhere was spotless and the cleaners cleaned our place 3 times during our week. THOROUGHLY ENJOYED - JUST WISH WE'D SEEN A BIT MORE SUN.

Top Tip:
There is seriously not a lot near to the hotel and very little within walking distance which is why I have said 'not suitable for young people'. The Half Moon Pub is great - they do good pub food and prices are very reasonable. Also a Chinese Restaurant nearby - nice food but drinks prices are well expensive!
I'd recommend car hire so you can visit the beautiful bays and resorts. The whole of Menorca is stunning and the bustling markets are great.
