  • At first thought oh no too near the train station but could not hear a thing, the hotel was spotless, the food very good, we had full board and it was a varied menu, the staff very helpful but if you wanted some trips etc you would need to ask as there is nothing advertised, its a short walk to the small town centre but check times of opening we went in May and shops open from 5.

We spent a few days in the area just after Easter 2013. The resort was generally quiet and we were glad we had booked half board accommodation. There would be much more available later in the season. Calafell is a pleasant small resort but very well placed for visiting other towns and Barcelona.
The hotel was fine, rooms were clean and pleasant. Housekeeping was good with towels changed regularly and rooms left immaculate every day. It was definitely worth paying a little extra for a pool facing room as the other side of the hotel faces directly onto the railway line.
Staff were very pleasant and helpful, the girl on the reception desk during the day was particularly kind and really looked after us. Restaurant staff were also really pleasant.
Food was fine. Breakfast was plentiful and perfectly good. The kids really liked the freshly made pancakes and the churros - healthier options were available! Dinner was very Spanish and might not suit all English tastes but we thought there was plenty of variety.
The only drawback were the school trips. There were 2 separate groups there for one night each and it felt like there were lots of Spanish kids around the hotel. Although they were polite and not at all unpleasant, they were noisy in the corridors and public areas. However, by just after 11 o'clock, everywhere was quiet. The last group went home on the Saturday morning and Saturday evening was blissfully quiet
The hotel was good value and ideal for what we wanted, we would certainly use it again.

Top Tip: Definitely choose a room overlooking the pool.

Staff were helpful and lovely.
Very noisy if a room goes out to the street side as there is a train station right next to hotel but the view is beautiful
Cleanliness is 8 out of 10

The beach is lovely and safe for kids. Unspoilt resort very Spanish I think I was the only Brit there! The train goes to Sitges and Barcelona and is very inexpensive. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel and had a very enjoyable stay.

Top Tip: Lots of great smart shops, all bars etc good value do not expect English pubs and likewise food Calafell is not like that thankfully. The port is lovely if you can manage the walk 40 mins!

I love this hotel. Second time we have stayed here. We were greeted by the owner with a glass of champagne at our first dinner and she made us feel very welcome. Food brilliant-typically spanish with show cooking and good quality ingrediants.Friendly staff-spotless well decorated rooms-lovely pool and gardens. We will be going back again ASAP.

Top Tip: Near to train station for Barcelona.
