Almonsa Platja Apartments

“ i have been to salou a few times but this was my first time staying at the Almonsa and it will certainly be my last. i went with my boyfriend and we are in our late teens early twenties and we were disgusted at the way in which the hotel was maintained. there were ants crawling up the walls, not once did the apartment get cleaned which it said on our booking sheet that it was cleaned daily and that you got daily towels which was far from true as we had to ask twice for towels and got them on the 5th day!! it also said that your sheets would be changed every 4 days which never happened either.the apartment itself was stinking of damp wood and it came to the point that luckily we had family that lived over there and we had to go and stay with them. we also got bit alive every time we walked into the apartment i'm home with 18 bites from the place!! it is also very noisey as there is nightclub directly underneath and u don't get to sleep until after 5. i would not recommend this hotel to anyone!!!

“ was a bit worried about this hotel after reading other reviews but it was great towels were changed every day, the room was cleaned every day and the staff were really helpfull.this hotel is in a fantastic location for the beach,bars and restaurants.

“ Top Tip: theres a great little bar just up the hill from the hotel called the guiness tavern where the food was gorgeous!

“ Friendly staff in reception,great food-lots of choice every day-dinner starts late at 8pm.Very noisy at night,we can not sleep.Very small lifts,during the day occupied by cleaners.not bad swimming pool area.

“ This is our second stay here this time their was 5 of us (Lads Holiday) and i must say its perfect for younger people or groups.
Starting from the front the reception staff are fantastic the 2 Spanish guys speak good English and are very friendly and their is a blonde lady who use to live in England and is fluent in Spanish she is also wonderful :)

The Rooms are not the best but we wasnt that bothered and the noise from snoopies would be unbearable if you wanted a relaxing fam holiday but basic rooms are good and i would suggest getting the Air con last time we didnt bother but i will also get this now.
the only bad bit is the lifts they are small, crap and can only have 3 people at a time.

The pool is nice and the pool car plays music during the day and the staff their are also fantastic.

We will be staying here in 2012 for another lads hol and would suggest any groups (even older golfers) to stay here as you dont have to worry about waking people up when you stumble in drink as they are still up lol.

I usually stay in 4-5* hotels and this obv is no way even a 3* but staff wise this hotel beats any other hotel as they are so friendly :)

“ Top Tip: The Clubs dont get busy until about 1-2 am so i would suggest hitting Patricks for a fun night we are all English and was made to feel very welcome.
Air con for 5 euro a day
