California Palace Hotel

“ returned 14/5 from 8night stay in Califonia Palace could not fault the hotel the staff were friendly always willing to help, hotel was spotless, good variety of food, from salads to hot food varied breakfast something for everyone microwave if you want food red hot, english head waiter who would always help, there is a spa downstairs which was fab pool with water spray jacuzzi and turkish room 4euro for 3hrs well worth it. the hotel was quiet as this is the quieter end of salou about 8min walk to the beach, train station at the end of the road past the water fountain, bus to reus and tarragona at the end before the fountain also the small train and bus to portventura theme park, ask for a pool view as you get the sun from before lunch, plenty of sunbeds.

“ Top Tip: Drinks in hotel expensive compared to local bar, go out of hotel turn right walk to next hotel Euro star hotel cross over to LA ROCA bar lager beer sangria and others 1euro plus you get tapas which are very varied friendly staff and good english, will put large screen tv outside if you wish to watch sport, you get a good drink here very good value. give it a go you wont regret it.

“ We found the hotel is lovely with very welcoming and helpful staff who are a credit to the hotel. It's in a quieter part of Salou (not the 'bustling newer nightclubbing' end) It's a lovely 10 min stroll to the marina & promenade. It's on the flat - so no problems for people less agile.

The room was very clean and the dining facilities were very good. The Manager of the dining room was especially helpful and there was plenty of choice (far too many options of desert for my waistline!)

Thankfully, we found the calmess of the hotel suited us very well

If you have kids, there was a lovely lady who welcomed our 4 yr old grandson to join in when I was on 'babysitting' stint whilst waiting my son and his wife to meet us. It was a rather quiet time, so no problems with seating/sunloungers etc.

I would book this hotel again in the future.

“ Top Tip: A couple of pubs opposite do a 1.50E pint (sorry but the hotel 3.50E was a bit steep, especially as the measure was only about 0.5pt) There was a little shop just around the corner from the hotel (next road to the Double Scotch pub) that is like an aladdins cave. . There are loads of little parks along the beach by the prominade, kids will be able to burn off plenty of energy here.

“ Nice location, wallking distance to beach passing many shops en route. Hotel was very clean, food catered for all tastes and nice selection. Staff were all very happy to exceed your expectations in every way, they were very happy and paid attention to detail.
The pool area was very clean & tidy and well laid out, shaded areas were created all day, very secure for children with a high wall.
Security cameras were present in side and out side the hotel.
Enertainment was always available if you wished to participate. Children were catered for in various ways and were encouraged to participate. Was nice to know they were safe & having fun.
The rooms were clean and deco was pleasant. Fresh linen, towels and toileteries were replaced daily. Would of been nice to have coffee/tea facilities in room but that is a personel preference.
We are an English family of four (children age 7 & 8). We spent 10 days out of season (end April) the weather was not fantastic which meant the outside pool was cold. The inside (Spa) pool was warm ands available for children which was a God send!
We met alot of Spanish families (it was their bank holiday) who had returned to this hotel on more than one occasion so it must be good!
Would like to return in "season".
