Regina Gran Hotel

“ Staff mostly friendly and helpful ,food average bit too much same entertainment not really for english audience. The room was spacious and clean.No air condititioning on because it was winter temperatures were 78 degrees most days and still hot at night.

“ This hotel is suitable for people of all ages, the hotel is immaculate, cleaners are in every day cleaning all the rooms and during our stay, which was only for a week, the sheets were changed on our beds.
Rooms are spacious and all rooms have a sofa and tv.
There is entertainment in the hotel every evening as well as activities going on during the day, you will find these activities advertised on a large notice board near the restaurant, the activities are even advertised with pictures and also in different languages for all to understand.
The gardener/handyman is out every morning cleaning the hotel grounds, sweeping up the fallen leaves,sweeping up the dust and clearing away anything that may have fallen to the floor as well as washing everywhere down.
There is a large outdoor pool, with a childrens pool,as well as an indoor pool, there is a small charge for the indoor pool unless you have booked direct with the hotel but worth it if you go at the time of year when the weather is not so good.
There is a large variety of food to choose from in the restaraunt,anyone who says that they can't find anything to eat must have an unusual diet because there is always something you can choose, I even saw a notice asking guests to let them know if you require a special diet, for example gluten free or diabetic.the chefs are constantly replenishing the food ensuring there is always fresh food to choose. The waiters and waitresses are on hand to help with all your needs, they take away your used crockery, as soon as you are finished with your plates etc, they are removed from your table ensuring that the restaurant stays fresh and clean.
If you have an early flight home let the hotel receptionist know the day before you are leaving and they will book an early breakfast for you, which is plentiful.
They will also make u a packed lunch if you wish to go out for the day but you must book this the day before.
The hotel is a short 5 min walk to the beachfront but slightly away from the noise of the disco bars and shops. Very good location.
The dancing fountains on the beachfront are a must see attraction, which I must say are well worth going to see, they take place every Friday Saturday and Sunday evening, there is a notice board by the fountains showing the times they will be on as the time changes as the evenings get lighter, due to the lasers and lights that are used as part of the show, you can also find information about this on the leaflet display near the hotel reception.
Travelling around is easy and relatively cheap, the hotel receptionist, marisah, is most helpful, she will give you directions to the train station as well as where to get the bus to wherever you want to go to, she can give you lots of useful information about local attractions.
Beachfront is very pretty, lined with palm trees, fountains and large safe walkways.
One of the best hotels in salou, don't take it off your site travel republic.

“ Top Tip: Barcelona is easy to reach by train and cost 30 euros return for 2 people. It takes 1 hr 30mins. La Ramblas is the place to go when you are there, there are lots of street entertainers on La Ramblas but beware of the pickpockets. The harbour is at the end of this street where you can relax by the waters edge. There is the cathedral in the centre of Barcelona and lots of historical buildings to see with the most amazing architecture. You can catch a tour bus for a small fee which will take you around the city.

“ Nice hotel, very friendly staff, reasonable food. The only downside was a charge of 6 euros for use of the pool, which I would expect to be free in a 4 star hotel, especially as the outdoor pool is closed at the moment.

“ Although the hotel was a 4 star and rooms reflect that , the food was not . The reason it has 4 starts is that it had a gym and an indoor pool. The evening entertainment was the same most evening - very old fashioned music and dancing. Although I am nearly 60 I young at heart and so is my husband - we like a bit of fun - we are not on deaths door yet!
