“ Nice clean hotel, food good and plentiful.Always lots of room around the pool but quite uncomfortable loungers and no umbrellas.Staff helpful and friendly. The young man cooking the eggs in the morning and the meat in ihe evening was so pleasant, always smiling.Room cleaned to good standard every day.Close to the beach with some nice bars close by
“ Top Tip: Explore the area, there are some lovely walks and nice small beaches nearby. The Welsh Embassy and the Victoria just two roads down are great bars with very friendly staff. The fountains are well worth a visit, they are beautiful. It is a very busy resort but there are some nice small bars to visit.

This hotel is a very dated 3 star. The maintenance is somewhat lacking and the room furnishings need updating. Our initial impression from the outside and reception was reasonable. We arrived about 10.30am but were not allowed room access until the afternoon, even though the hotel was not full. Unfortunately we did not have a pool view. The odd numbered rooms face east and get very little sun. The even numbered face the pool and get lots of sun. The hotel has 7 floors and is a straight rectangular building with only 2 lifts that take a maximum of 4 people.
The two hotels either side belong to the same group. Our room faced the pool and outside entertainment area of the hotel across the road although it was mostly hidden. Rooms facing east on floors 1-3 have no views as they are blocked by the many trees. We were on floor 4 and were able to see straight across to the theme park. At night, most of the firework display was visible. The entertainment noise from next door was VERY loud and went on until midnight every night.
The rooms are not particularly quiet and we were disturbed at 3am on a couple of occasions by noisy neighbours. It is apparent that they have done a temporary fix to the doors by fitting an extra strip around them. The result is that you cannot close your room door - it has to be slammed!
The hotel has 175 rooms, so at full capacity the queues for the lifts would be terrible. Likewise the pool, which is smaller than it looks on the pictures, only caters for around 40-50. There is a large entertainment/bar area with a TV screen that was never used while we were there. Drinks prices are quite reasonable. One of the waiters was more interested in straightening tables/chairs every time someone moved on, than he was in getting drinks, so we went to the bar and got our own - it was quicker and more accurate!
The rooms are very basic and all seemed to come with 3 single beds (except the family rooms). The furniture is old and missing bits. The room telephone accepted incoming calls but you could not call reception or another room. We had a light that didn't work and a shower head that did the twist (which my husband fixed). Sheets were changed weekly, towels daily. The rooms have air conditioning which was an essential.
The restaurant was the best part of the hotel. The food was excellent and plentiful. I am always worried as I like my food plain, but each night there was a choice of 3 meals cooked on the griddle by the wonderful chef Ramy, all of which were plain. There was also the usual selection of salads plus at least 6-8 other dishes for those who like more flavouring. There was pizza every night and a vast selection of deserts! Breakfast was equally good with omelettes, fried eggs and pancakes all cooked to order on the griddle. As usual in Spain, the bacon was not cooked enough for us but everything else was great with a large selection.
The hotel staff are in the most part, very pleasant. One or two of the restaurant waiters were more interested in chatting up the single women and a couple looked very scruffy. Most of the reception staff are helpful and speak reasonable English. Unfortunately one was quite rude and her Customer Service skills were sadly lacking. We sat and watched a family book their Theme Park tickets but when my son went to ask about booking his he was told she was much too busy and he would have to come back the next day. I was not impressed! Especially as he wanted to go the next day.
The staff seem to be badly organised and lack direction. There are 2 large boards in reception, one for the entertainment and the other for the facilities. The latter advises that wi-fi is available and to ask at reception for the code. We asked on our second day and were told it was not working. At the end of 10 days it still wasn't working and they hadn't bothered to remove the sign. The evening entertainment is somewhat pathetic. One night we wanted to see the advertised dancers, which clearly said 10pm. We arrived a few minutes past 10 to see the dancers leaving the hotel. Some nights there was no entertainment other than for the kids and it always seemed to finish early. The neighbouring hotels seemed to offer much more than this one.
I had read that this hotel was on a hill, but had no idea how steep it was until we got there. It is half way up the hill and to reach the town you walk down the hill. After a hard days shop or evening out you then have to fight your way back up, which in the heat is VERY hard. Like wise, to go the one of the many lovely beaches you have an uphill walk followed by about 100+ steps down to the beach. You need to be very fit to come back up all those steps. There is a slope but that is equally steep - just slightly easier on the thighs! There are 5 or 6 beaches, including the main one which is on the flat but a good 20-30 minute walk away.
Overall, this is a very basic hotel located in a fairly quiet part of town. Suitable more for families with younger kids.

Top Tip:
Just down the road from the hotel is Rafferty's Irish Bar serving Guiness on tap. Very friendly and with large screen TV for sports events and nightly entertainment and not too far to walk back up the hill.
The room card acts to power the room, including the air con. So when you go out and take your key, the power goes off. Try popping an old credit card in the slot while you're out but just be sure not to push it all the way down as you won't be able to get it back!

“ The hotel was adequate and the reception staff were friendly and helpful. The food (breakfast) was excellent and always seemed fresh and well presented and again the staff were pleasant and helpful. The accomodation was basic but clean and for the price did exactly what it said 'on the tin'. Apart from one or two niggles with sticking bathroom doors without locks, faulty/dodgy light switches and the extra bed being in the way it was okay for our stay. The only other downside was the slamming of doors at all hours (perhaps door closers would be useful) and the lack of a TV remote control!! Was told afterwards that they were available at reception for a 10 euro deposit. Not much info on arrival in that respect but it was actually a god send and was a good reason to stay out longer in the bars!
“ Top Tip: There are so many eateries in the resort you really are spoilt for choice and there is a very good Irish run (but not themed) pub/restaurant just across the road to the left as you leave the hotel called Richards that proved good value and good fare. Beaches are brilliant - explore and you will find one to suit your needs, they are on the hotel doorstep but remember that the hotel is on a hill so if you tire easily choose carefully! If you plan to explore more use local/public transport - it's so much cheaper - Barcelona is only 5 euro on the train but almost 20 on the tourist buses etc so you save the price of dinner or a few beers!
