Although this is a beautiful building, the owner has had recent financial problems which has resulted in the fabric of the building looking very tired. In addition, he has had to get rid of many of the staff resulting in poor service eg one day we went to breakfast to find the previous day's dirty crockery and unwanted food still being on the table. Not surprising when Felipe is trying to run the whole affiar with his wife only.
The financial situation has led to the hotel no longer providing services advertised in the brochure eg breakfast was very limited although a wonderful spread is shown on the website and in the brochure. Spa treatments not available.
In addition we had no hot water for the whole week as the boiler had broken - not what you expect in a 5 star hotel.
That said, we attended a wedding there - Felipe employed extra staff and it was a wonderful event.
The hotel does not currently merit its 5 stars and cost.

Top Tip:
A beautiful town and we enjoyed our one week stay exploring.
There are many excellent restaurants and bars in the town - too many to mention. Many offer a 10-12 Euro menu of the day which were always good. The cost of tapas varied - make sure you ask for tapas and not racion (large plate).
Good bus service to Seville at 2.30 Euros - takes 45 mins approx.
Excellent walking in the local area.
A perfect place to chill.
