Vime Callao Garden Hotel

“ The Hotel was clean and tidy and well presented , there are a lot of stairs and would not be suitable for persons with walking problems.

The area is quiet but has a number of pubs and eating places within easy reach.
The staff at the bar , restaurant and entertaiment were great and very friendly.

The food and drink in the AI was varied and exceptable for the price paid.

Rooms were large and had all the essentials within in relation to self catering .

“ Just returned from a four day break in Tenerife at Callao Gardens Salvae. The Hotel is clean with three nice swimming pools. Room was large and had everything required for a self catering stay. Hob, Oven, Coffee maker, toaster, Microwave. Towels and maid service was good. My partner and I (both 32) Booked the self catering option, and boy were we glad! The food we sampled on the first night as we arrived late was inedible. We are not fussy eaters but honestly we could not eat the dried up pasta or rubbery chicken (at least I think it was chicken).

The location of this hotel is not great, there is no beach in the resort, although there are a couple of very nice restaurants (CASA MARIA) and the meals although not as cheap as las americas were of a high standard. It is not possible to walk into Adeje or puerto colon and las americas from Salvae. The bus service is good and cheap and the bus stop is two mins from the hotel at the Santander bank. Note that the last bus back from las americas is around 21:30pm. Taxi costs around 14euros.

Overall we had a lovely break here, and if you want a relaxing very quiet holiday it is just for you, although I would not advise all inclusive, wine and beer were not nice at all. There is nightly entertainment at the pool/restaurant area consisting of parrot shows, bingo, snake show etc.

If I returned to tenerife I would stay in Adeje or Puerto Colon which was lovely.

“ Top Tip: Try the Casa Marie or europa retaurant for a really nice steak or pizza.

Pubs are few but there is some life in resort for a quiet night which we liked.

“ We stayed here for a week in January and enjoyed it. We were impressed with the spacious apartment. 3 pools to chose from and friendly staff. I cant understand how anyone would complain about this place. It is excellent value for money.
The resort itself is very low key but still has nice restaurants and bars to choose from, with Las Americas a short bus or taxi ride away.

“ Top Tip: Try the Latino bar, the 3 horseshoes pub...... and you will get a great feed in the Callo Spirit pub

“ This hotel offered a well equipped apartment up too many steps for older people. The staff were very friendly and helpful but the food was adequate but very samey e.g. pork evey night. No provision was made for us veggies unless it was booked the night before through Reception. There was always salad but nothing veggie to accompany it. We could not understand why almost everything contained meat, even some vegetables had chopped ham in them and there was no cheese or egg available for the lunches or evening meals. The bread cobs were delicious and the drinks were fine. There was entertainment every night of a reasonable standard.
The beach is being remodelled and they hope to finish it in March 2012 when it should look very nice. Overall this hotel was good value for money.

“ Top Tip: If you have a car and like the beach go to San Juan (10 minutes to the North) on the way to Los Gigantes. There is an active fishing port there too with decent car parking space. The Wednesday market there is worth a visit. A supermarket (with white tiling in the entrance) near the beach in Callao Salvaje has some good bargains and an Internet and book shop near the pharmacy offers a very useful and resonable service.
