Laguna Park II Hotel

“ This was my first visit to Laguna Park 2 but not the first time to Tenerife. I have stayed in various 'similar' starred hotels, and this was as basic as the rest. The room had no balcony/view but was clean (if not tardy/in need of updating).
After two days my boyfriend and I decided to upgrade to a 'room with a view' (for reference these are the rooms with even numbers e.g. M8, M10, N8, N10 etc. We were allowed to view the room first and the cost is 10 Euros a night (5 Euros each if sharing) which was well worth the money. The view was fantastic: the room very similar but with a seperate sleeping area.
Our room was cleaned every two days and cleaners/staff were very firendly.
I did come across a couple of cockroaches (one was dead under the bed) and the other my boyfriend got rid of! There were some small insects on the surface tops but as long as you keep food airtight/secure then no problems.
Utensils very basic and cooker was a bit tempremental (self catering) and fused the electric a couple of times but we were able to cope, oh and no corkscrew!
We paid for a buffet breakfast a couple of times which was good value but the same food each time. Plenty of choice but personally the food was not warm enough and cold plates did not help and as for the toaster: it was the slowest toasting device I have ever come across! Buffet evening meal (only had once) was very disappointing but the boyfriend has been to this hotel on at least 7 other occassions and it has been better.
Overall experience was very good and the walk 'back up' to the hotel is hard but if you take your time and take small steps it gives the calves in your legs a good stretch! And if you really need to...stop half way and take a look at the dolphins practising/performing in Aqua Park! I would go back again but only in a room with a view! Well worth the upgrade.

“ Top Tip: The bus station (Coste Adeje) is in walking distance and when you have purchased your bono card you have many options for expoloring the island. We took the 460 to Icod Los Vinos which cost just 3.85 euros each way and the views there are magnificent (if not a bit scary)! You must use the GuaGuas - they are great (but avoid peek times).
