“ This is a great hotel for longer stays and those interested in outdoor pursuits.
very convenient position with a bus at the door. It is really on the sea edge.

“ Top Tip: th eold fishing bay at la caleta is areal bit of old tenerife with great cafes and fish restaurants.

“ Stayed in a self catering unit (sea view) with fairly basic equipment. Ideal for us as we used the cooking facilities for breakfast and ate in the nearby excellent restaurants/tavernas at other times. We didn't use the hotel dining facilities but they looked ok if a little busy at times.
Staff were polite and very helpful and the hotel was very clean throughout. Talked to a couple who were staying 400m away in a 4/5 star hotel and they were impressed with the look of our hotel. When you are talking 400-500 euros/week extra for the 4/5 star hotel ours looks very good value.

“ Christmas 2011 was my second visit to this quiet hotel, so you can take it I like the place. Its quieter than some might like, but the absence of discos and drunks make it suitable for families and couples of all ages and types looking for peace and quiet. La Caleta has informal class and style... but not the four or five star glitz and prices of more glamorous areas.

The village of La Caleta where it is based, has several excellent seafood restaurants nearby as well as 2 Italians, a Chinese and a bar serving steaks and pizzas amongst the shops directly outside. However the hotel restaurant is of good standard and the Christmas and New Year banquet meals were truly impressive events.

Weekly barbeque nights supplement a hot and cold buffet with lots of choice.
'Novima' the hotel's owners, also run a sports training facility nearby for which reason, the hotel might be said to be suitable for younger people...The varied menus reflect younger sporty tastes and needs (pizza, pasta and paellas), as well as extensive complex salads and fruits, fishes, stews etc.

Evening entertainment is very limited... and if it’s an important factor for you, don’t stay here!
The sporting youngsters Young adults do not interfer with the otherwise older clientele... they are not drinking alcohol for a start...because they are quiet and disciplined. Athletes of all ages use the hotel.
The rooms also have a separate living room / dining area as well as good balconies with drying rails and tables and chairs on them.
but the mattresses are on the hard side and take a couple nights to get used to, if you like a soft bed.
UK tv and film packages are available if not promoted byb the literature in the rooms - so ask at reception.

The nearby beaches look as if they are about to be recovered and were being bulldozed in Jan 2011. This would be perfect because the beach is just over the road, but a bit stony.
The very best beach (El Duque) has white sand and water sports, but is a half hour walk away.

Although La Caleta is connected to the developed urbanisation by frequent buses and a coastal walkway, it is about far enough away to consider hiring a car.
The car can be useful because you are bound to have a few cloudy afternoons in which to go exploring, without having to commit to an excursion on a perfect beach day.

Staff are professional and friendly, and the hotel runs like clockwork.

Perfect for lunch or dinner, evening strolls, pre dinner drinks etc.

“ This hotel was good value for money. Clean and comfortable accommodation although quite basic cooking facilities. Staff were always helpful. La Caleta is a lovely village with excellent restaurants and within pleasant walking distance of the nearby Las Americas resort. A good local bus service connects the village with resort. The proposed nearby beach has yet to be finished which is disappointing, especially for families. Pool area is excellent. A pleasant place to stay for all age groups.

“ Top Tip: We enjoyed the small local bar by the fishing beach. All restaurants in village are good but some very expensive.
