Once again the staff were very friendly and efficient. This is the second year in a row that my husband and i have stayed at this appartments and will definately be returning next year again. Absolutely no complaints about this hotel. Excellant.

Top Tip: Smiley's pub very friendly and just across from the hotel. Also ate at the Mongolian BBQ once again freshly cooked for you excellent value and atmosphere with friendly and helpful staff. Ate a few times at Margheritas food ok but mainly went for free internet access to keep in touch. Average price for a pint of local beer 1.50 Euro everything is well priced and competative. Ate a couple of times at the cake shop just down from the BP garage well worth a wee visit. Top tip instead of always walking down to the beach front, come out of hotel, pass pubs on the left and at end of road take a left. Follow road passed Margheritas and at road end you will see Mongolian BBQ. Turn left up that road and you will find Biancos Italian brilliant......Friends of ours also said the restuarunt under Biancos which is called Overseas was also reportedly superb. Euro exchnge rate excellant at the moment..

Double room toon 4th floor, very spacious but only one bathroom / toilet and adequate cooking facilities. Didn't eat in hotel so cannot comment but ALL staff from reception to cleaner were very polite and always helpful. No one takes notice of "no reserving of sunbeds" but went in May when it was quiet...wonder if it is enforced at busier times? If you are self catering the hotel offers a meal package so you can try the restaurant. If you check out late they have luggage room and a changing room in the pool area so you can stay longer waiting for your pickup. Only 10 minute walk to beach and taxi / bus station / supermarkets / restaurants / bars all within 200 meters of hotel. Still in the thick of it but also in a quiet area.
I would have no hesitation in returning here or recommending this hotel to fellow travellers.

Top Tip: Restaurante Margarita (Eddie & Ali) C L BostonNo 11 = Quality food, live entertainment every night plus interactive and very friendly and professional staff. You get what you pay for.
Must see Music of the Musicals show as transport / 2 course meal / beer & wine included in a live show. Try going on a Wednesday as there is a free VIP upgrade (normally 10 euros) to middle / front ro Torres wine. We paid 39 euros each but worth every cent. The show was BRILLIANT.

This was our 2nd time to stay at this hotel and still cannot complain about it. Requested either room 227 or 327 at the time of booking and got room 227. Very clean rooms, stayed in a 1 bedroom apartment - just 2 of us so loads of space. Maid service 5 days out of 7. Balcony was a bit narrow but as there was only the 2 of us it was OK. Hairdryer available at reception at no charge. Safety boxes in a room behind reception 40E but you get 20 back when checking out. Good shower/changing rooms available if you are out of your apartment before 12 and not being collected till later in the day. Loads of sunbeds available - now available until 9.30 each morning. Roof terrace also has sunbeds. Mattresses for sunbeds available for hire 1.50E each per day. Weather was great during our stay. All in all a pleasant stay and would defo return.

Top Tip: a few local bars opposite hotel e.g. Yela's, Smileys - drink very cheap. Pints 1E G&T 1.50E. Great Chinese just round the corner from these bars - great food. When you walk out of hotel turn left and up the small hill on the left is a carryout Pizza called Pizza May's - excellent & very cheap. About a 10min stroll in the town side with loads of shops, bars & restaurants. The House Restaurant and Pizzeria Daccapo Restaurant - 2 excellent places to eat with great deals on each night. Walk through the square outside the old church - down the street to the right is The House and on the street to the left is the Daccapo.

We stayed at the Aguamar for 2 weeks at the beginning of May 2012 and would highly recommend it to everyone. On arrival late in the evening, we were pleased to find a large bottle of water in the fridge and fresh fruit. We had a modern, well equipped self catering apartment which was cleaned 5 times a week. Our shower was suprisingly powerful! The hotel is very clean and well maintained in general. There is a decent sized pool with plenty of sunbeds, but there is a small daily charge for parasols and matresses. There are 3 PC's for internet access (1 euro for 15 mins) and Wi-Fi is available for a daily charge. There is a good bar serving drinks and snacks but we didn't try the restaurant, so can't comment, sorry! Reception is 24 hrs and the staff were friendly and helpful. A safe costs 30 euros for 2 weeks, they are located in a room near the front desk. If you want all the TV channels there is a daily charge (about 15 channels in total including BBC News, Sky Sports etc), else it just shows a Spanish channel. The hotel is in a good location close to bars, restaurants and shops etc and it's about a 10-15 minute walk to the beach front and harbour. The only thing we would change is to ask for a room away from the front of the hotel, as there is a row of open bars nearby from which you can clearly hear the terrible karaoke most nights until around midnight, and it should be quieter round the back. Not the hotel's fault obviously, just a tip if this might bother you! But all in all we had a great holiday and the Aguamar is great value for money.

Top Tip: The best restaurants we found were The House and The Cottage, situated a short walk from the beach front, which are run by the same people and is basically the same menu. A set 3 course meal is 8.95 euros and the food is fantastic. There is plenty of variety around Los Cristianos restaurant wise. As for trips, Loro Parque is a great place to visit. It's an exotic wildlife park in Porto de la Cruz in the north of the island (about 1 hr 45 mins on a bus). They have Dolphin, Orca and Sea Lion shows, gorillas, chimps, tigers, jaguars, penguins, alligators, meerkats, exotic birds and an aquatic centre with sharks and all sorts of sea life. The entance fee is 33 euros, which is well worth it. Mount Teide is also highly recommended, you get to the top via a cable car which costs 25 euros, and the views from there are stunning. We also visited the island of La Gomera for a day, the Fred Olsen ferry takes about 45 mins and the price depends on if you want a guided tour or just explore yourself, we paid 55 euros for the guided tour and found it was very good value and had a great day.
