“ The hotel is very central and located in the heart of Pueurto de la Cruz. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend to friends & family if they are planning a holiday in Tenerife North. I might probably return next year and stay in Marte Hotel.
“ Top Tip: As I booked a half board hotel I was having my diners in Hotel by there are lot of nice restaurants around because this hotel is located in heart of Pueurto the la Cruz. But I have discovered very nice sandy beach called Las Teresitas which is near Santa Cruz the capital of Tenerife from Pueurto de la Cruz bus station you can take either bus 102 or 103 to Santa Cruz then 910 to Las Teresitas the whole journey takes about 1 hour but it’s worth spending a day there.

“ goodvalue for money, central location in the midst of all the action, excellent breakfast, dinner not so good!next to bus station giving access to good value island trips on public transport, lots of steep hills about ,so may not be ideal for the elderly, although there wee lots of elders about, situated in the quaint older town

“ The hotel far exceeded our expectations. Our room was quiet, light and sunny, and the bathroom contained a bath as well as a shower, bidet, etc. Room was cleaned and beds made daily. The breakfast buffet was one of the most extensive I've ever found in this category of hotel, with English style breakfasts, German/Dutch style, and Spanish style - churros and pastries. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the place had a relaxed, unfussy atmosphere. (We hired bikes, and were immediately shown a safe place to leave them). The location was excellent - right in town centre and surrounded by restaurants, and a minute or two from the seafront and bus-station. It was very inexpensive and terrific value. We'd happily stay there again, and would recommend it unhesitatingly to our friends and anyone else.

Top Tip:
The "Bar Andaluz" (turn right out of hotel, right again, down hill and right again, then it's second on the left) did excellent tapas, copious and delicious.
The Costa Martianez swiming pool complex on the seafront is not to be missed. Hire bikes from MTB Active (3/4 minutes from hotel), run by very friendly, professional and helpful German bike enthusiasts. Put bikes on 9.15 bus to Teide, (having arrived at bus-station at 8.45a.m. and previously bought a Bonobus ticket 12€), get off at El Portillo or Teleferico, and enjoy a glorious day cycling downhill back to Puerto. Monthly Boot Fair at Anglican Church is not to be missed! Sunday morning market ("Africa" Market) in Santa Cruz is a great way to spend a morning, sample local colour, and find a bargain. Order a "barraquito" coffee for a very pleasant taste experience!

“ I have to echo comments made by others about this hotel, it is very clean and housekeeping done daily. It's in a great location for all amenities and the staff are very helpful, most having a good understanding of English. I stayed in room 1010, a twin on the 2nd floor. It's window looked out to a square walled shaft above the kitchen and this meant as well as daylight being at a premium, the noise from the over zealous kitchen staff meant peace wasn't achieved until all the pots were cleaned but then it was a very quiet room. The tv is biased towards the Germans but I did find 3 english channels, although that might be because most of the clientele both of the hotel and in Puerto are Germans. It's an all you can eat buffet breakfast which doesn't really vary in content but is well prepared none the less. I'd say go for breakfast before 08.30 or after 09.30 as during the 'rush hour' you could be waiting for a table for quite some time. For a 3 star hotel I think it's in the top end of its class and would recommend it without hesitation, indeed the comments from others on this site helped me choose the Marte Hotel with a degree of peace of mind.

Top Tip:
Being a Brit' I was drawn to the only English bar I came across - The Beehive Inn on Calle La Hoya, a street, 1 block in, that parallels the promenade. The staff speak perfect English as well as Spanish and the bar food is English fayre too.
For cheap provisions I'd recommend the 'SuperDino' supermarket chain too, although a lot of stuff is dearer than back in England (with the current exchange rate), they seem to be the best value.
