“ I would thoroughly recommend this hotel. The gardens are excellent especially the classical music that is played every day. Cleanliness is top class; food excellent and the warmth of the staff superb. It was my first visit but my partner had been several times and the welcome she got was unbelieveable. They instantly recognised her.

“ Top Tip: The hotel is a 20 mins walk from Puerto de la Cruz but there are some amazing places to have a coffee or a glass of wine especially ovelooking the sea where the surfers were. Oratoria is a wonderful place to visit and Mount Teide unbelivable.

“ We went bed and breakfast and felt it was outstanding value. Room was large and clean and was cleaned every day by the maid. Breakfast was wide choice including having your favourite omelette cooked in front of you. Hotel is somewhat high up above town but taxi was less than 4 euros from the centre.

“ Top Tip: if you have transport there is a gorgeous quiet beach at El Rincon (10 minutes by car)

“ The hotel is a really one. It is a bit away from the town centre but they put on a shuttle bus 8 times a day and it is only a 20 minute walk to the town, and there are lots of little tucked away bars and restaurants tucked away that you would miss if you didn't walk. We only stayed B&B but the food was really good. There was everything that you could want for breakfast and more - even rice and potatoes, as well as continental and cooked. The staff speak great English and are all very friendly. The cleaners would even say 'ola' every time they see you.

There were a couple of down sides (as there is with everything). The shuttle bus wasn't very reliable for being on time and some times it was up to 20 minutes late and once didn't even show up at all! The only other thing is that it is very Spanish orientated hotel in that most of the guests are Spanish and all the entertainment, particularly in the evenings, was specifically for the Spanish and we regularly didn't have a clue as to what was going on.

“ Top Tip: In the town there is a great English bar called the Bee Hive. I don't normally like going to British things when I'm abroad but it was the friendly staff and reaxed atmosphere that made us keep going back.

Also, La Bodega restaurant on the front is a greta place to eat. The staff are really friendly and the food is fabulous. There's even a very English lass who works there trying to get people in who has got a great personality!
