One of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. The rooms were nice and bright with a superb sea and cliff view. The layout of the floors is a bit confusing at first, but after a few days you work out which steps and lifts to use.
The pools and bars are on the roof level and have a superb view. There are several pools of different depths, and plenty of sun beds. There is not much of a beach at Puerto Santiago but this pool area makes up for it.
The food was good with plenty of choice. If you want more choice there are a few al la carte restaurants on site or plenty of alternatives within 5 mi walk.

Barcelo Santiago Hotel is good overall value for money. My wife and I took a 6 night break all inclusive. The staff are friendly and efficient. The only complaints I have are that the reception was sometimes left with just one member of staff and a large queue of people needing attention.
The menu for the buffet did become quite repetative at times - pork being the main feature 3 meals in a row. This did get more varids though as the week went on.

My friend and I picked this hotel as it has an international standard across Europe, could not fault it at all! we found that being on the 5th floor the best as you only had to go up one flight of stairs and you were at the pool bar and pool area and just right near the main restaurants; the food was plentiful and something for everyone.
we went all inclusive and found it to be excellent value for money, the cocktails were fab! the staff in the hotel were very friendly and helpful; the entertainment was quite good but we found that outside the hotel only a few bars, to be honest it was a very quite area, we did'nt find that to be a problem. All in all we had a fab week and would go back.
