Finca Vista Bonita is located in a wonderful setting with fantastic views across the south coast of Tenerife. The apartment provided was of a very high standard with comfortable, firm beds, a full bathroom and lovely furnishings and the terrace was a sun trap through the day.

I would comment that there is not a full kitchen. A microwave and four ring hob is provided but not an oven. However, with an excellent asador restaurant over the road (grilled meats), there is an alternative. In addition, the restaurants of Golf Del Sur, Los Cristanos, Los Abrigos etc are a 20 minute drive down the hill.

You will definitely need a car as the Finca is 800 metres above sea level (2,500 feet) and the village of San Miguel is a 5 minute drive. The village has all requirements - an excellent bakers (open 365 days of the year!! - El Pan del Horno), a supermarket which stays open until 10pm, a chemist, medical centre, banks and newsagents (although English newspapers are not available - go to Golf del Sur for these).

One note of caution - as the Finca is high, it can be in cloud whereas the coast will be in sun. It is also a little cooler during the day and particularly at night and an electric radiator is provided for the bedroom. We asked for a second heater for the sitting room which was instantly provided. This advice applies probably to the winter months and I am sure that during the summer a slightly cooler evening helps with sleeping.

Most guests were either Dutch or German and the Finca is featured in Thomson's brochures for these countries. The communal facilities provided are good including a heated indoor pool (not large but good to cool off in), jacuzzi, gym (no running machines, very basic equipment), laundry area (washer and dryer - 3 Euros), a book library and free internet access (no pc provided, bring your laptop). The Managers/Owners speak excellent English and are extremely helpful and although I did not book there are a range of spa treatments available including facials and massage. These seemed very popular with other guests.

Overall, we would return to the Finca but may look at coastal alternatives to guarantee full sunny days.

Top Tip: You absolutely must eat at Los Roques in Los Abrigos (20 minute drive down the hill). The food is absolutely wonderful, great value (even with the pound plummeting against the Euro) and service is exemplary. The value for money was far better than anything in Los Cristianos or Las Americas and we wished we had found the restauarnt earlier in the week.

As a golfer, I can recommend both the 27 holes at Golf del Sur and 18 at Las Americas. Although both courses were busy, two great rounds of golf were achieved in approximately 4 hours each time with great facilities and even better views across to La Gomera, up to Mount Teide and out to sea.

Thiss accomodation was excellent and true to your description. To really enjoy this fabulous location a car is required. The restaurant across the street was one of the best canarian restaurants we have eaten in. The house speciallity of al meat being cooked on small porable BBQat the table left the choice of how rare or well done to the diner.

This was one of the best places we have stayed in. The brochure could never do it justice but was accurate. The wow factor when Irene opened the front door to reveal the apartment in the foreground reaching out to the ocean on the horizon was memorable. Scary moment when we could not find our way into the finca or find anyone to speak to in spite of confirming our arival time in advance but this was soon rectified when an approach to the waiter in the restaurant spirited Irene 10 mintes later.
I have one small critisism in the bathroom the shower over the bath gave me a problem as being under 5 ft tall I could not reach the floor when stepping out as the bath was so deep. I required assistance. A non slip bath mat would help and when we go back I will pack one just in case!

Top Tip: You need a car or be prepared to take taxis. Going to the town involved a long steep hill which going would be bad enough but up!!! The long way round in the car was fine with a well stocked supermarket and several restaurants. However the restaurant across the street at he Finca was superb with the house signature serving meat on a small porable BBQ at the table. El Portillo is the name and indeed is the landmark to find the finca.
