“ Great central location for the city.
About 1.5 km from the central bus station and not far to the tram route that runs round the city.
The beach was a 15min bus ride away but the stop was at the end of the street, the fair was 1.05 euro and buses were every 15 mins.
Location was near to the Armas and Fred Olsen ferry terminals, about 500m so ideal for us as we were going on to Las Palmas.
The room was clean and reasonably sized, the cleaning staff would go in every day if you wanted. The decoration and the furniture were not new but served the purpose.
The room did have air conditioning, essential in early october.
The breakfasts were not to british tastes and they seemed to buy the cheapest ingredients.
There was ham,cheese, toast and bread rolls, corn flakes only and tinned fruit.
Plus a selection of bought buns and pastries in prepacked sellophane.
The coffee was awful from a machine, but we had tea bags to survive the week we were there.
The staff could not speaak any english, I can get by in Spanish so managed OK but they were curteous and as helpful as they could be.
The desk was manned 24 hours.
I would use the hotel again but would not pay for the breakfast, so room only for me.No kettle in the rooms though.

“ Top Tip: The Olympo resteraunt on the next street was very good and reasonably priced.
Santa Cruz itself was a very clean city with beautiful shady squares and gardens.
A trip on the tram to La Laguna is well worth it.
A return ticket was 2.50 and there are ticket machines at every tram stop.
A trip to Teide was tough from Santa Cruz, not many buses - we used an organised trip from Puerto Santa Cruz which meant a 6am start. Would hire a car next time.

“ A basic but clean hotel in a superb location in the centre of Santa Cruz. Providing you're not looking for a bit of luxury, this hotel is perfect for a few days break, and is also reasonably priced. Friendly staff as well.

“ Top Tip: Although it's a 15 minute bus ride away, La Playa de las Teresitas is surely the best beach on the island, as it has golden sand, clear water and has a backdrop of just rocks, cliffs and palm trees, alongside a view of the hilltop town of San Andrés. Not a tacky pub in site!
