Royal Kenz Hotel

“ Had to move rooms as we had ants and cockroaches. We've been here before and liked it but it has gone down hill. No longer 4 star. Never sept for the week as the beds are like concrete.

“ This is the 8th Christmas we have spent at this hotel and we never have any complaints
The staff always welcome us back and are always happy to help.
The Spa complex is second to none in Tunisia, we will be returning.

“ Top Tip: There is a great bar restaurant ,out the front of the hotel turn right about fifty yards cross the dual carriageway and there is a row of shops and the restaurant is there.

“ It would have been useful to know that you could not go to dinner without long trousers. We were not allowed to dine the first night as the shops were closed and could not purchase long trousers until the next day

“ Having previously stayed at The Royal Kenz hotel in Port El kantoui, it seemed the perfect choice to return to in terms of style, quality, location and service. However it quickly became apparent that standards had dropped considerably for a hotel of an alleged 4 star rating. Although some of the issues concerned were relatively minor, i.e. sitting dow to dinner to find tables still cluttered and dirty from the previous sitting, there were also many other factors that were less easy to forgive. One such example that we personally experienced (3 x times during our stay), involved being shouted at by staff in response to basic requests.This ranged between asking for a missing peice of cuttlery to ordering a coffee. There were also 2 x occasions where the door to our room had been left open by the domestic staff after making the bed. Given that we were on the ground floor I found this totally unacceptable from a security point of view. Furthermore the overall standard of service and maintenance can only be described as relatively poor in comparison with our previous visit. I am aware that the hotel has experimented recently by offering an "all inclusive" service, which they soon intend to abolish. This may in part help them to return to the former quality that they offered previously, given the fact that they obviously struggle to facilitate this system alongside guests residing on a "half board" basis. Despite the above comments the Royal Kenz remains in a nice location, and both my wife and myself had a pleasant holiday. Nevertheless it has to be said that it certainly does not meet up to it's current 4 star rating, and the recent expansion of the premises does not appear to have been supported by an equivalent expansion of facilities.

“ Top Tip: Port el kantoui is a pleasant 30-45 minute walk along the main beach.
