El Mouradi Port El Kantaoui Hotel

“ Booked this holiday as a last minute "cheap as chips" break to chill out for a week. Due to the low price, we didn`t expect much so was pleasantly suprised especially after reading some of the reviews.
We arrived at the hotel around 7.30pm, welcomed by a very friendly bellboy and taken to reception. The staff on the desk were very pleasant and chatty and we were upgraded from a twin room to a suite without even asking! The room was lovely. Away from all the hustle and bustle with a beautiful view of the tennis court, mini golf and sea view to the left. There were 3 beds in the room which were spotlessly clean and really comfy. A triple wardrobe and a single shelved robe, heating/air conditioning, beautiful bathroom with a very powerful shower that never ran cold, television and a mini fridge.
Food here is absolutely wonderful. Theres lots of choice of hot food, salads, soup and bread and the vegetables are to die for! At every meal there are 2 chefs that do fresh cooking. Omelettes, fried eggs and pancakes in the morning and dishes such as chicken stir fries, fresh pizzas, steak and pastas at lunch and dinner. If you have a sweet tooth, take a look at the large selection of fancy cakes. We were in heaven!
The staff at this hotel are so friendly. Even the maintenance team and the maids chat to you. The drinks here are not measured and very strong. We only had 1 sober night and that was because we were tired after a day out to the medina at Sousse, lol! There are 2 bars in the main hotel, 1 smoking and the cabaret bar none smoking. There is also a moorish cafe if you like a toot on the old hubbly bubbly pipe.
The hotel had a mix of nationalities including French and German. Every guest we spoke to had been to the hotel many times before and chatted to everyone, including us English newbies. We`ve even been invited to Germany to stay in a hotel owned by a couple we got to know.
We had originally booked to go to Turkey this summer but are now changing our booking and going back to El Mouradi. The place is fab and I can`t understand some of the reviews, especially the ones that say the people are unfriendly. We never stopped laughing the whole week we were there and made many friends of all nationalities.
If you`re a cat lover, you`ll be made up. There are around 25 cats living at this hotel. They are looked after by the hotel vet who regularly treats them as you`d expect your cats at home to be treated if not better. They are`nt meant to come inside the hotel but watch for the white one with black spots who likes to sneak in and curl up on your knee for hours on end. He`s adorable!
All in all a fantastic holiday. The only reason I havent scored a perfect 10 is because there is no kettle in the room so if you like a cup of tea to wake you up in the morning, dont forget to pack one.

“ Top Tip: Take a walk down the perfect white sanded beach to the marina. It`s around a 5 kilometer walk but is well worth it. There are some fantastic yachts harboured there along with bars, shops and a boat you dine on. Make sure you visit the fountain for its regular daily shows, breathtaking!
Taxi to the Medina at Sousse costs around 5-7 dinar. There are many bargains to be had and things are much cheaper here than in port el kantaoui.
BEWARE - when you travel outside the hotel, you`ll be approached by someone saying they know you from your hotel as they are a chef/waiter/bellboy. They dont know you, they recognise you from your all inclusive wristband and will have you trapped inside a jewellers or carpet shop before you know it!

“ It was that noisey we came back 6 weeks early the food was not good at all people was running about in the room above at 1-00 at night we went for a relaxing holiday, far from it. it was that bad we had to come home it made my husband ill never again

“ Fiendly staff, English language limited, Food good choice and available through out the day, cold drinks limited, only one choice of beer, rooms cleaned daily, needs more entertainment through out day and at night time, would stay there again in higher season as this time of year is catered more for the ederly
