“ When I booked I got the impression that the hotel was nearer to resorts than turned out to be the case.

Saadia Garden Hotel. Went with an open mind and was pleasantly surprised, ok it’s an older hotel but the management are trying to put things right. The main public areas aren’t too bad, but the rooms are in need some much needed attention.
From the front of house staff, to the bar and dinning room staff all work hard to make your stay as pleasant as possible. The animation team do an excellent job along with the pool attendant who never seems to stop and is always there with a smile.
There where a few people who did nothing but complaint and just went out of there way to find fault, and went on about other hotels in Tunisia and when asked why didn’t you go there, the replies ranged from to expensive or we thought it was being refurbished, but most people we spoke to all said “for what we have paid it’s great”

This hotel is great value for money. The food wasn't fantastic but i'm fussy and managed to eat every day. The fresh pancakes went down well with the kids.
All the staff were so lovely. From the helpful reception to the friendly guys in the shop, who weren't pushy. However i have to say the animation staff made our holiday. I went with my 3 children, who made freinds and abandoned me early on. However the animation guys got me involved in loads of activities and i then made loads of friends. My daughter adored susu from the team and didn't want to leave him behind. These guys work so hard and really do make the difference between an ok holiday and a great holiday.
“ Top Tip: Use the local buses to go to Sousse its so cheap.

I very much enjoyed my stay at the Saadia, the room in the hotel, the food and facilities were fine. The only small problem I would have with the hotel was that as I had a first floor room I would often take the stairs rather than the lift to my room. Quite often the stairs were not lit and could be very dark.
However I do have a complaint, which is that when booking the room online the range of prices for single occupancy all-inclusive ranged from £70 for a single/double room to £150 for a family room. As the prices were reasonable I thought I would treat myself to a family room for the week. On arrival at the hotel, I was taken to my room which as far as I could see was NOT a family room. I returned to reception to make this point but was informed that all rooms in the hotel were the same (during my week at the hotel this seemed to be the case). So basically I could have had the same room for £70. I still actually think that £150 was reasonable value for the room (all-inclusive), but it's not hard to see why I am annoyed to have paid £150 when I could have paid £70 for the same room.
“ Top Tip: You should be able to get a taxi to Monastir for around 10 D and roughly the same to Sousse, buses also run to both places from outside the hotel and are cheap and run regularly. There is a fixed price government shop in Monastir selling a wide range of tourist goods if you don't like to haggle.
